Some how they use the masts as part of the crane system and for tending the long drift nets . In the first pic , the yellowish boat on the right you can see the reals they use for hauling in the miles of nets

I don't know why but i find interesting skies just about as interesting as some of the subjects that I like to photograph ,especially if they are a bit out of the ordinary . I have always looked at clouds and tried to see or imagine objects in the cloud shapes,....call me a dreamer I guess. If you r...

I couldn't tell you what kind of clouds those are as I have never seen anything like them before. It was a very nice day and everywhere you looked you could see those goofy funnel clouds . That last post is about the most menacing cloud I have ever seen. I would have loved to have seen that and got ...

Very interesting reading about Marcel Duchamp , quite an unique guy with a very creative eye in his art. I found the Etienne- Jules Marey link to be just as interesting . I think now days if he showed up with a camera like that , he would be detained for awhile though.

from the most obvious shadow on the right the automatic f stop went from f 13 at the shadow to progressing one f stop in the next 5 frames. f 13 to f 9. I tried to adjust the exposure levels and then stitch the pano and that helped some but the colors were just to different for iphoto to match with ...

Stadium Hi

I am having a bit of a trouble getting the vertical sky shadows blended out, I had the camera on auto just to try something different and I used the anchors to help but they couldn't quite fix the problem. It is 3 rows and and it took a very long time to render. maybe I can fix some other way.

I don't know what embedding a picture is, but if it will make it so when someone opens up a site to view a pic and they can see it in about three times the size I am all for it. some of the pics I upload to the foram are kind of small and people can't really tell what is wrong with them because the ...

WOW Very nice , I love the beautiful clouds and how clear the atmosphere is, it makes for nice brilliant bold colors. I especially like the first pic. Not a lot of trees there, I bet the wind can really whistle there.

Puyallup fair and weird funnel clouds

I was on the ferris wheel to take a couple of shots of the sunset and the fair. The guy that got on with me was afraid of heights and didn't like me crawling around taking pics because it made the bucket tip and rock a bit . I don't know why someone that is afraid of heights would get on a ferris wh...

two boat pics

I'm just a boat fanatic , love the lines and the rigging. lots of character in old boats and lots of stories. I guess I spent to many years salmon fishing, just can't get the love of that part of my life out.

You are so right about the boats moving and screwing up the pic. You have to be careful when there is wind or another boat going by because those little wave action can move the whole fleet in the harbor and make your pic ruined and have multi rigging images.
