Hi Marco,

you are right: effective thickness of the original crown is 30mm, the marker on my pic doesn't show that precisely.

Hi Marco,
may you show pictures of the arms, you want to mount?

I am afraid the indentation on the crown you pictured will help much, because your armpiece will collide with the inwards bowed vertical arm of the Merlin.

Hi Marco,

I made some crown adapters from polyoxymethylen. Either you can put the friction disc from the original crown or an other plastic disc made raw with sand paper.

Oh well I have no idea if it is gonna be easy, but I would make a totaly new frame and mount the "interior" of the Head in the new Frame. It is not clearly to see, which model it is. I took apart a similiar device: inside same microcontroller, but much smaller gears and motors, which may be a probl...

DON'T DO THAT !!! You will definetely damage your Merlin. The original hand controller uses an ASCII Serial Protocol to drive the head. But the head can't be connected directly to a standard RS232 port on a computer, for two reasons: * signals are not RS232 compatible; they are TTL open-drain * TX/...

The quick-release lever of the MK PanoGiga allows a fast and accurate vertical up and down (+/- 90°) in up to 5° steps with click-stops. Exact at startup (0) will begin the next series - all rows! The same starting point is very important for gigapixel panoramas. I am curious to see some proofs ......

unfortunately the generator does not calculate the cosine for the azimuth
so it ends up in to much pictures (=to much overlap) for the upper and the lower rows

I think you will need max. 6 9 6 only
