Offtopic: Klaus, is everything alright with you, man? In the last few months most of your posts are hysterical rants with insults, plenty of ALL CAPS and !!!!!!. Not (f)actual bug reports, more like emotion reports. This is really troubling... I hope you're OK.

Maybe, some time in the future, Autopano will be able to select/reserve/use the best amount of memory when rendering different panos? We can only hope!

Hm, since when 4GB RAM is "low RAM computer"? I thought this workflow proposal concerns only 1 or 2GB configs? How much RAM should I have if I want to stitch panos with 30 images, 8MP each?

Can we look forward to a v2.5.01 release where the previous methods for blending, color correction, and geometrical matching are restored as options, even if they are not the defaults? No. :D "The previous methods" were modified and/or rewritten precisely to improve them the ways already described....

You shot 1000 images with auto settings! Wow! I usually get mad when I get panos of 10 images with wrong setting, cannot imagine what will happen to the poor photographer if he hands me 1000 of those. Actually I can... *sharpens scimitar* :D I think for projects of similar scope you should always se...

Yep, that has been disabled/removed in 2.5. We can only hope it'll be included in a future version. http://www.autopano.net/wiki-fr/action/view/Autopano_Pro_2.5_-_Traitement_du_rendu_par_lots Sidenote: I never really cared for that preview. The important thing is the progress bar and I'll trade prev...

You are correct. However, Renan supposes to try a workaround for your issue/problem, by inputing by hand a value for the width which is a power of 2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_of_two#The_first_72_powers_of_two

Just to get the facts straight - you're saying PTGUI cannot render gigapixel panoramas with anti-ghosting logic? I get it that Autopano team focuses on the automatic part of the software and the big projects, as gigapanos are on the rise. That's ok. Still it would be nice to know what is the general...

Pretty much - YES! Looks like once again PTGUI is ahead of Autopano!

But just looking at all those tabs in PTGUI made me shiver with the memory of the time I tested a previous version of the software.

'](Yes I know I can load source files with alpha, the main point is to have one less step of PS editing). I do not agree: the main point is to follow a practical order of operations. Having to adjust alpha masks in the source images because you see in the rendered pano you missed something when set...

That's the main way I edit my handheld wide DR panos to achieve the desired look - rendering PSD with layers, then masking in PS. A simple example is in this thread: http://www.autopano.net/forum/t11236-proper-settings-for-handheld-exposure-fusion It would be great if APP had some interactive brush ...

If you use 'force all image in the panorama' you WILL get one panorama, even if the images are not placed correctly. You say that you tried it - what was the result? Did you also try merging the two panoramas - either by rendering two separate files and then making a 2-image pano or directly in Auto...

Oh I saw that document some time ago - that was the catalyst for my testing. But I think there's something amiss. Take a look at "Workflow type A". It is more as if you've stitched only the dark set of images and lightened it just a bit. I'm attaching a few results. Using the technique in "Workflow ...

klabton, 22% in the screenshot above is the *current* usage, ie "this second". As you can see, the software uses all four cores - the4 CPU graphs are populated. If it used only one, only the first graph would show activity. I fear you might be misinterpreting the Task Manager's info.

Proper settings for handheld exposure fusion

I upgraded to 2.5 Giga last week and dropped a set of 4 images to test some of the new functionality - exposure fusion. No luck... I looked at some other threads, but most are concerning bracketing, panoheads, tripods. None of that information helped me improve my results. Will post the images later...

Great work Alexandre and the whole Kolor team! Now, how to proceed with software upgrade? I have APP 2.0 and would like to get APG 2.5, as the free nodal point is the main new feature I'm going to use. What will be the price for that upgrade, didn't find that in the shop? I'm not interested in Panot...

You're going to use built-in raid controller, that's what you're saying?! Sounds strange from the guy with the $10K system :) Even I don't use built-in raids! ;)
