Disneytoy, Thanks for your kind words. I shoot all my Panos in fully manual mode, switch off all Auto settings. Fixed ISO, Manual Exposure with fixed shutter and f stop. Then when it comes to stitching, all your frames will be similarily exposed. You will need to use your light meter in the camera t...

Forgot to ask this morning if you shoot with a manual head or a robotic head? This pano was taken before I discovered or understood the benefit of a Pano Head. I was using a rail mouned on a ball head to get close to the nodal point. Some times I'd just do it by hand too. This one was shot by hand....

Tall Ships

Hi all again!!

I had great subjects, great weather and great light. But I messed it up by NOT taking my Pano head and tripod with me.

An expensive lesson!!

My final pano from the Tall Ships

Enjoy,

Niall

Ian,

I added your Flickr stream to my Apple TV. Now I have PanoTV at home.

Some great stuff there. I particularly liked the P&W badge on the Harvard.

Keep them coming.

I thought that new members were 'Newbie's'. These are stunning and your Flickr feed looks magnificent too.

I'm going to see if I can add you to my Apple TV this evening and enjoy these on an even bigger screen.

Thanks for sharing. No 2 for me.

Best regards,

Niall

disneytoy, If you are starting out as you say, there is no real need to get hung up on whether you are shooting full frame or not, tha reason being that these pano's are like jigsaws. Just take plenty of shots with 25 - 30% overlap in each frame. What does however make a difference, in my opinion is...

Hi disneytoy,

Welcome to the community, you will learn lots here. Stick around!!

This pano was taken with about 15-20 photos, all in portrait. The image would have been cropped for effect after that.

This pano was shot with the Canon 70-200 lens.

Niall

Revisiting Locations

Guys, In your experience do you get better photos by revisiting locations? Weather aside, whats your opinion? I use TPE, Google Maps, Wind Guru and Weather.com, which pretty much clarifies most of my concerns. Once or twice I have been let down by elevation. So, does your familarity with a location ...

Sunday Morning

Greetings all again!! This is another shot from Sunday morning in Dun Laoghaire. I repositioned myself closer to shore and got a better angle of the mouth of the harbour with foreground detail. The Sun had risen slightly and so I lost the reflections on the underside of the cloud as in the previous ...

Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.

Greetings all,

I took this panoramic yesterday morning at Dun Laoghaire harbour, looking East. All in all I took about 20 panos but only about 3 or 4 captured those golden colours.

Enjoy.
