Re: The last core

Seems like the sollution might be is to change the affinity of APG such that it is not using the last virtual core. This likely means the GPU processcan now use the whole last REAL core for itself and not be the bottleneck anymore. Instead of hanging around 65% total CPu usage I am now more often at...

Re: The last core

My tone to Alexander is aggressive because he is not taking the problem serious and is not working to solving this problem. Instead he is trying to convince me software works like that, which is nonsense. I have developed software for years and use many and never seen anything alike, apart from situ...

So what are you saying, should I turn of the virtual cores and I will see the "last core" problem go away?

Re: Get yourself a 1 TB SSD!!!

I hope so to, untill then I find this SATA SSD a very nice investment saving a lot of waiting time and problably electricity. Will likely buy one for my laptop too ;-) And when I read about ASUS SSD Caching II, I think there is still a great future for SATA SSD's ;-) Multiple SSD Caching, Instant Up...

Re: Get yourself a 1 TB SSD!!!

leifs, of course pci-ssd is fast, i have one myself. But expensive.
It all depends on its purpose, i just wanted more space to store the sourcefiles I am working on. For 350 i have 1 TB SSD, revodrive will cost 1100 euro.

Re: Get yourself a 1 TB SSD!!!

Yes in RAID things really shine. Would be a great idea for my fast workstation on which I do the editing. For my old machine I did not wanted to go that far. So I ordered only one. I ordered a samsung 840 EVO not even the pro. The pro is almost 200 euro more expensive and not even that much faster. ...

Get yourself a 1 TB SSD!!!

I still use my old workstation. It is a four core i7 920 machine with 16 GB of memory in it and a 100 GB SSD. It is great for preprocessing projects while I use my newer workstation for editing. I also use my old workstation to allow photographers to work remotely on projects. When using the SSD for...

Re: Detecting process bug

Carine, if you really want better quality then google spheres, I doubt if you will find it for a smartphone. You will have to move to dslr. For a thousand euro one can create a complete package for anyone to be able to use. But if you really want smartphone apps, look here for three http://iphone.ap...

Re: Detecting process bug

Hanskeesom, "Avoiding featureless images can only be avoided by placing with details into the photos." So can featureless images be avoided by putting for example a post-it on empty walls? How can you delete the post-it from the image afterwards? I am using panotour 2.2 (not the pro versi...

Re: Detecting process bug

Hi Carine, First of all by being honest to you. If you want good quality panoramas in every situation (so also indoors with limited light) without to many stitching errors, blur problems or exposure problems, using nothing but a iphone/smartphone, you are asking for the impossible. But with that in ...

Re: Detecting process bug

Avoiding featureless images can only be avoided by placing with details into the photos. Avoiding variable exposure can only be done by using an app that allows settings to be set to a fixed value. Seems this app does so https://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/manual-custom-exposure-camera/id917146276?mt=8 ...

Hanskeesom, I will wait for your explanation on how to fix our stitching problems, hopefully you can help! Hi Carine, I am honoured by your request to explain your stitching problems. Re: Who will render a one off group photo for me?

I have experimented with the trial version of Autopano Pro to make a composite group family photo taken during a balloon flight. Re: nvidia or amd ?

Well i got a gtx770 and an i7 4930k to go with it, very pleased with speed overall. Still slow when trying to deal with bracketed sets of 36.3megapixel camera! but a lot better. Anyway my workflow is now hdr merge first, stitch second. so all good and very fast. Yep HDR merge first is generally the...

Re: Hardware question: does a fancy graphics card improve sp

My GPU is a Titan and it is never used to it's fullest potential when doing previews in the editor. In anothher machine I have 95 euro card with 4 GB memory. Re: Autopano 4 whislist

Or do you need to go crazy expensive ? ....... So without that info I just can give you the tip to use a nvidia single GPU Titan black with 6GB Memory. Georg Running it and happy. Re: APG - Handling hardware

From the last link it is not clear whether GPU will be used for rendering. Of course, I do hope so, but for me more important is better use of the GPU for the editor and maybe multiGPU, so I can buy a second titan ;-) It would be already cool if one editor can run on one GPU and the other editor on ...
