The Nikon D700 does adjust for a DX / partial frame lens, but you will realize much better results with a lens that was designed to cover the entire sensor. I also have practical experience photographing with both the Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye and the Nikkor 16mm fisheye on the D700. Obviously I was not...

I spoke with the person using the Hasselblad with the 50 megapixel back and 12 gigabytes of memory on a Mac is sufficient for rendering larger panoramas.

CL, So Autopano Giga was able to align and render images from the P65+ with 8GB of system memory on Windows? Which version of APG did you use? I was thinking of increasing the size of images in photoshop to simulate the burden of different digital backs to determine the limits of my current system a...

I personally only run windows and linux. I recommended RAID arrays for the Hasselblad back while supporting a fellow panoramic photographer. He experienced this problem as I was about to capture an event with a P65+ as a demonstration. I have 12 SAS drives with 15k rotational speed that I am going t...

APG Handle Hasselblad 50 mp digital back or PhaseOne P65+

Has anyone stitched panoramas from a larger medium format back such as the Hasselblad 50 megapixel or the PhaseOne P65+ ( 60 megapixel )? How much system memory is required? Six gigabytes of system memory was not enough for the Hasselblad 50 megapixel images on Mac using the APG 2.5 beta. This was f...

I am wondering if this is due to excessive gamma adjustment and not color.

I am thinking that if I eliminate the gamma adjustment that the grey mess will be eliminated. I cannot make much of a curves adjustment without causing haze. I think that I need to open up the aperture in the future to reduce lens flare.

I just stitched another view from the north with two exposure brackets using a Nikon and a Zeiss 100mm macro using APG 2.5 beta 2. When I included both brackets the edit window showed a normal preview. When I removed the bracket for the windows and highlights so that only one exposure bracket remain...

1. Alexander, I was discussing the quality of alignment of the individual photographs into a panorama, but I now understand that it is not just the alignment but post processing ( color, levels, etc ) as well. I have not spent enough time to carefully examine the results and maybe I should have wait...

[AGP 2.5b2 W7 64] import gigapan 4 rows x 22 cols poor alignment

AGP 2.5b2 W7 64 I used the import gigapan import filter for the EV +0 exposure bracket of a 4 rows x 22 cols with 30% overlap and a row down pattern. I captured the photos with a 5D Mark II and a Mamiya 645 150mm f3.5 lens using an adapter so I changed the focal length of the photographs from the pr...

Remember that this is a Beta version of the software. I noticed two significant problems when attempting to use the fusion method. One is that there seems to be a "flare" / haze problem that is not eliminated by reducing the strength or increasing the black levels. Two is that there may be a signifi...

1. Quality Please. The 300mm f2.8 is an excellent lens. I have used the 1.4x TC, but you will begin to see some natural or mechanical vignetting. You can reduce mechanical vignetting which is due to the barrel of the lens, but you cannot eliminate natural vignetting by increasing the aperture value ...

The Autopano Giga fusion and HDR implementations are similar to previously existing tools. It is much more necessary to learn how to use the settings if you use the HDR tools versus a fusion based approach. If you do not learn about the settings you will often be frustrated and only be able to produ...

Gigatiler that can reassemble tiles available as Product or no cost?

Alexander and team, Are you going to release a Gigatiler that can reassemble the tiles as a paid product, bundled product, or at no cost? Vincen, Thank you for the clarification. I thought it might be possible that they had already released it due to the announcement on twitter. The list of enhancements is substantial and I will certianly be patient while the Kolor team works arduously to refine the code and test it. Thank you.

Julian Kalmar has been consistently producing the highest quality images. He carefully develops his capture and processing technique and is truly a master of photography.
