Be aware that 70°C is the *junction* maximum temperature. Due to internal thermal resistor, the body should not reach 70°C, or this mean that the junction temperature is higher than that.

Strange... I guess there is a problem with the bluetooth connection. Could you try to pair the bluetooth module from MacOS tools, and then use the serial driver in Papywizard?

Do not use v2.0 (multi-threading bug in it). Try another dev. release for MacOS.

I think the component getting hot is the voltage regulator, and with 14.8V, you should reach the limit it can dissipate.

I would add another voltage regulator before the BT module, to downscale the power supply from 14.8V to, say, 8V. Just use a simple LM7808...

The backlash of the mechanics in arround 0.3°, so asking it to move 0.05°... And AFAIR, Papywizard won't move the head for positions < 0.1° (I'm not sure)...

It seems that NKRemoteLibTest.exe does not wait until the sequence is finished.

Andrew, is it the same with DSLRRemote Pro? I don't remember how it works...

Nkremote.py???!!??? Do you mean NKRemoteLibTest.exe? This is the program Papywizard call to communicate with NkRemote main app. You need to give its complete path in the plugin configuration. For you specific problem, can you bracket with more than 3 pictures from NkRemote itself (without Papywizard)?

Excellent, tout ça ! Superbes images (et retouche).

En fait, pour faire ce genre de photo de Grenoble, pas besoin de filtre IR : tu attends un jour bien pollué, et ça fait à  peu près pareil !

Je déconne...

There is a Papywizard plugin for NKRemote. Did you try it?

Yes, sure!

I think the Arduino project is great for a simple controller, like T&C one.

I see the mini2440 as a replacement for laptop/N8x0 devices, to run a Papywizard-like software. Running WinCE may let user run the Windows-only plugins, like DSLR Remote Pro one (it has to be checked).

BTW, it looks like this plateform is well know in the linux embedded world:

http://friendlyarm.net/products/mini2440

That's a long time it exists, and still not obsolete. There is a good community arround it, and I think it could be a very good candidate to develop a universal controller.

The script uses 24x36 as default sensor size (Hside/Vside). So you need to enter the corrected focal (55 * 1.5 = 82.5mm).

Or you can modify the script with your sensor size:

Vside= 23.6
Hside= 15.8

and then give the real focal (55mm).

That's definitly a great project! I think it would be great to be able to define all usefull parameters, through a little display. You may use this shield: http://www.nuelectronics.com/estore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2 This can become the open-version of T&C controller ;)

You need to find a plateform running python/PyQt or python/PySide.

It would be nice if someone with a little knowledge of linux could make some more tests on the N900, and find what is the problem...

At work, when we get such strange issues, it often happens that we have several problems at the same time! Trying to detect one problem at a time may fail, as the other one can occur... or not!

It could be a RJ12 connector issue... Check if the pins are OK on the Merlin side.

This is the machanical parts only (very good stuff, BTW); you need some electronic to drive it. Depending which one you choose, a new Papywizard plugin needs to be written.
