It changes with every lens & also depends how much overlap you are seeking.
For 10-22mm you will need
6 shots -15 pitch
6 shots +15 pitch
1 zenith
1nadir (I do handheld shot)
14 shots total
This is what I do but you can do it other ways too with less overlap in somecases if the scene allows.

Full screen as default is not a recommended practice on the web & many of the users wont be able to switch back to window mode. I have tested this with many clients & they all want window mode. Though a good thing in default full screen is that it shows "press Esc to exit" but if I click the link & ...

New interesting Pojections in development

Future is always quite interesting just found on Max Lyons's site. Max posted a brief article outlining the math behind the compressed rectilinear and recti-perspective projections. http://www.tawbaware.com/ptassembler_mod_rect_projections.pdf http://www.tawbaware.com/projections.htm Trans Merc Rect...

Autopano Giga 1.9.1 alpha 2 (and probably some previous alpha) have two new options which enable moving the whole pano. I only tested these in 360x180 spherical projection mode. In this mode: Pano Pan makes the point you click follows the cursor (and the spherical image evolves accordingly in a per...

APP is the only software I know which can give you this interesting zig zag pattern, I like it but that doesn't solve your problem. There can be several issues why APP is not stitching it properly. Do you have exif information in the images or is it missing? APP needs that, if you have it then try s...

one of the key features of APP is that it can handle the varying exposures between frames, which was the reason I used aperture priority. Yes but that's good when you have only single series of images not on HDR with auto correction switched on. Think it this way why would you need HDR if APP can m...

I'm confused. In each layer I have varying shutter speeds (fixed aperture) because I've got auto exposure (Aperture priority set), so are you saying I shouldn't use this method with HDR? Oh then you are stuck, you should not have used aperture priority, if for any reason I use aperture priority the...

For HDR you dont need do that.
I shoot manual HDR bracket & then feed all the raw images to APP & switch the layers (Sort by speed) now it will show you & stitch the speed named layers
eg: 1/15
1/60
1/250

then I take the stitched image into HDR software.

Switch the color correction to NONE & output 3 layers which you can then manually blend into HDR & tonemap.

Oh then you would feel left out, its worth trying
Isn't there a software on mac which emulates windows software like Wine does on Linux.

Consider this a new year gift, at least I do. Well I tried a test once & its too hard to get good results when you move parallel to a flat building , but I also tried shooting once on 80 feet high tower moving around the periphery & that worked fine bcoz I shot moving in circles & the projection I choose was circular too. For your interior pano...

Many recommend/prefer to pre-process bracketed shots with HDR/exposure fusion program BEFORE stitching. that's true but that is too many shots to fuse, I prefer to process as layers in APP &then fuse them in external program. Its much faster & I get 3 layers to play with various HDR programs. There...

Manually adding +90 solves the problem but since its a 5 shot bracketed HDR I have to change that manually in all the images of the series. Do I need to optimize after changing the value, if I do so then the value again changes on optimization. Most of the time I shoot hand held nadir so the height ...

If is really without any feature: Photoshop --> clone-tool! cool Sky is plain but it has gradient, not easy to photoshop when shot at noon with glaring sun looking at you. If it really is featureless, just use the move tool to move the image to +90° in pitch and guess the yaw and pitch if you don't...

Featureless zenith, how do you add CP

Due to my lens 10-20mm on canon 40D, I often get feature less zenith when shooting outdoors & its impossible to add CP on it in many cases since its plain sky.

Is there a way out?

That's a huge pano, I would like to see when its complete.
Such huge pano will require over 200Gb of scratch disk space depending upon the size of each file, do you have that?
If yes then APP would complete it sooner or later, no need to cancel.

Following old advice given by Mediavets, this one fails me on all counts, APP 1.9.1 alpha2 does not work at all finding the correct CP, maybe bcoz both ends look same & that might be confusing the detection engine. So I gave up & deleted all the CP & created CP manually 1 by 1 only to the nebhiourin...

Try linking the zenith image only to 1 of the images & see if gets you the desired result, if not then only add CP linking to other images.

I am downloading ur images, slow connection so it will take a while to revert back.

Mediavets Your advice makes this perfectly stitchable pano but I am confused on 2 points. Why did APP read as 19mm focal length if it was 18mm, if this is not the fault then why changing the focal length works out better? Then make sure you only have links between neighbouring images, remove surplus...

jeffk, Did you use a well calibrated pano head for shooting this? It seems that you just panned the camera on a regular head. One side of the building looks almost identical to the other side so APP has overlapped them giving me only half the full pano. Even if this was shot on a calibrated pano hea...

This scene is one that could cause APPs auto CP detection system some problems because there is a lot of plain white wall and ceiling which lacks features for APP to place CPs.

Hopefully the V2.0 of APP giga to be announced next week should be able to handle such images better.
