Probably, the "Ground" and the "Tip" are in contact somewhere.
For Canon's this cause a continuous contact to the Shutter and then all normal operations of your camera are blocked.

Hello Jan, Once connected, the Led on the BT stay solid after connection or change to "blincking" when the Merlin seems to lose the connection ?
