Re: How to?

Rolling your camera 30-45° simply lets you capture more non-overlapping area diagonally which would otherwise have been overlapped had you not rolled the camera. This has nothing to do with your camera's sensor and it has no influence on stitching. Straighten the verticals in the usual manner after ...

GPU, Texture compression - what's best?

Hi

"GPU, Texture compression: sets the compression of the image textures on the Panorama Editor"
What is the significance of this? Is it lossy compression, like JPEG? Is the only difference the small artifacts compression leads to? Which is faster? Is the difference perceivable?

Re: 3d image from aerial photos

"Many of these types of technology need a player to view them and many are limited to the platform they can be viewed on.." Remember that that is how panoramas started off too back in the 90s. To view them you needed QuickTime, Java, and other programs I don't want to remember. Now everyon...

Re: Smudging Issue

Hi. Rotate the pano left or right 90°, then take a screenshot of the whole Autopano window. Take another screenshot which shows the Layers panel with the FOV and K1-3 values. Then we have something to go by.

Re: Problem with color rendering - RAW & JPG

Hi Alexo Autopano uses dcraw to handle raw files (as do most programs). While simply feeding raw files into AP is possible, you cannot ever expect to get the best quality out of such a workflow. The reason is simple: each camera model is a unique light registration device which needs specific tuning...

Re: 3d image from aerial photos

What do you mean by 3D?
If you want to be able to rotate an object, get Object2VR as advised above. http://ggnome.com/object2vr
If you want to construct real 3D with depth, I too am curious which software can do it *easily*

Re: Hard to stitch pano

Ah, I see. No, this is not about stitching errors during rendering which the ISO setting could indeed influence, but about the stitch itself.

Re: Hard to stitch pano

Hi I recall some mode called ISO, but can't find it in 3.6.3. Perhaps it was renamed to something else? Anyway this isn't about trying to get a stitch - it stitched fine when using "single row or column". I'm just hoping to help Kolor improve the automatic algos of APG by providing this ca...

Hard to stitch pano

Hey! Autopano Giga 3.6.3 leads to a garbage stitch on this image set even though the photos are correctly shot round the NPP. If I enable "Layout > Single row or column" then they stitch correctly. Maybe you can use them when tweaking future engine versions. I have included my settings fil...

Re: Add support for .HDR files from Luminance HDR

Hey Thank you AlexandreJ. APG is supposed to be 32bit I don't know what you're quoting exactly, but I wage APG has a complete 32-bit per channel pipeline. Why would you want to stitch "real" HDR-images anyway? - Most importantly, because you require a stitched HDR image :) For HDRI lightin...

Hide panels with single click

I would like an easy way to hide the panels on the left or on the bottom with a single click. e.g. here http://i.imgur.com/F01erWJ.png Hide whatever panels are visible on the left with a single click, and a different button to hide whatever panels are visible on the bottom. In my case I have Info an...

Re: Polygonal mask / Masking tool usage

Wouldn't you consider them all obsolete with a polygonal masking tool? Yes I did use more markers than needed because one never knows how many are needed. When I used less, placed as the documentation describes, there were patches appearing where I did not want them. I'd rather spray 50 clicks in 20...

Add support for .HDR files from Luminance HDR

Luminance HDR 2.4.0 can save .EXR (OpenEXR) and .HDR (Radiance RGBE) files. APG-3.6.1 seems to show the EXR files correctly, but not the HDR ones - they open completely black in the groups window and in the panorama editor window, though there is data in them and if I right-click on them in APG and ...

Re: 3.5.1 - How to remove all CPs over RMS=4 from selected i

I think the CP RMS limit setting is broken in 3.5.1 Alexandre, as I tried right-clicking on an image without any CPs but with the limiter set at 4, and then local-optimize, and still I get CPs over 4. I also tried the same but on an image with existing CPs and I had "find CPs everywhere and rem...

Autopano is awesome

I just wanted to let you know that Autopano Giga (I'm on 3.5.1 at the moment, but this doesn't apply just to this version) is working phenomenally well for me, thank you!
I use a self-made pano head, and stitching is automatic and perfect out of the box!

3.5.1 - How to remove all CPs over RMS=4 from selected image

Hey I would like to remove all control points over RMS=4 from image 7. I know I can click on it, then go to the CP editor, Ctrl Pts tab, sort by RMS, and select from 4 upwards, then delete. But there is also the option in the advanced mode of the Ctrl Pts editor panel where you can set geometry anal...

Replace processing-circle with progress bar

When the green preview button is enabled to get an accurate preview of the panorama, APG-3.5.1 shows a tiny spinner in the top-left corner. My request is that you replace that spinner with an informative progress bar which shows more or less how long until the preview is done updating. On single-lay...
