It's amazing!

Runs very well, the features are great, and no crashes in Gentoo 64.

[300A1 Linux] switching projections happens in two steps

Not sure if bug or a feature request. When switching projections, the preview responds in two steps. It should jump from the current projection to the clicked correct one, without the incorrect intermediate step. 1- Start off with the pano in the "Spherical" projection and "fit projection on screen"...

You haven't made your source photos public so I can't check. Check them yourself, use a proper exif viewer and make sure the orientation information of the rotated images is correct. If it is not, file a bug at irfanview's website.

Yes, just turn off blending in the render settings and optionally render each source image to a PSD layer. As for the reprojection of the images, that depends on the images. What have you shot, what focal length, what field of view of the whole pano, and what are you trying to achieve?

There are however circumstances where bracketing is necessary. Consider, for instance, a church with its very strong highlights next to statues resting in a deep shadow. You seem to imply that I said not to bracket - but I did not ;] There are many different types of cameras providing many differen...

The answer to blown highlights, life, the universe, and everything, is RawTherapee . In fact you should always develop your raws first in a dedicated raw processor before stitching them. What Autopano does best is stitching, but the raw developer implemented in AP is just rudimentary - and for good ...

Yellow anchors are only available when using color correction, and they play no difference - the preview is always clipped, as is the rendered HDR's histogram. But this was my mistake - the documentation says that color correction should be disabled when input files = HDR and desired output = HDR, s...

Hmm, can you figure out then why they clip in Autopano Giga (including the rendered HDRs, impossible to tonemap) but not in other programs?
What do you mean by "it can be within this range" but "it won't be larger"?

OK I just tried all these HDRs in Photomatix 4.2.1 and they all opened fine without clipping.

AlexandreJ here's an explanation of what could possibly be the problem:

Yes, but those 2 HDRs (any 2 of the 8) don't display well internally in APG nor after stitching no matter what I tried, and I tried: 1- No color correction 2- HDR color correction, 1 layer, 1 yellow anchor 3- HDR color correction, 3 layers, 1 yellow anchor on each layer 4- HDR color correction, 3 la...

[APG-2.6.3] EXR and HDR files are not opened correctly

I use Luminance HDR and Picturenaut to create HDR files in the OpenEXR and Radiance RGBE formats. Luminance HDR also lets you choose a profile for creating the HDR file - the profile specifies the weighting function, response curve and HDR creation model (screenshot below). Profiles 1 and 2 look bes...

+1 I shoot panos manually, one shot about every 40 degrees, so due to imprecision their position can vary by a few degrees. Would be nice if we could set AP to lock them into a grid and to not move each image by more than x degrees. The usefulness of this would be when there are unlinked images, as ...

I found how to get the images I'm hovering over to show correctly again (to see their outline and sharp edges, not blended): simply hover the cursor over any of the photos in the layers editor! Weird! Works every time!

klausesser you can get an almost-instant preview of the effects if you open up the exposure fusion tool . Sometimes the preview in that fusion window keeps perpetually loading - for a description and possible workaround see http://www.kolor.com/forum/t13577-2.6-rc1-linux-64-fusion-preview-doesn-t-lo...

I never used XML with AP, but some thoughts: 1- Why detect it at all? I thought that's what the XML was for. Unless the XML places the images in their generally correct positions and detection would fine-tune their positions. 2- What were your group settings? http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/v...
