Re: Super resolution with autopano?

I think one should distinguish two aspects : The mathematical one : information cannot be 'invented', so by interpolation you can double the number of pixels but the amount of information, ie the number of original pixels does not change. Same by stacking N identical images, you cannot produce new i...

Re: Vertical panorama

Thanks Klaus, I will rebuild my pano following your advices.

My question (to Kolor) is still valid: why do I get different results ? As a 90 degrees rotation is non destructive, I assume the results should be identical. Is there in APG something assuming the pano is horizontal ?

Vertical panorama

I have 3 photos in landscape orientation for a vertical panorama. If I stitch directly (with default parameters) I get something which is not very good, with spherical projection as default. Now if I rotate each photo in portrait orientation in an editor and stitch with default parameters, I get a c...

Re: Color profile

Are your images raw,jpg or tiff ? Have they been processed before stitching by another software ? Knowing nothing about your workflow, I would say that if your AdobeRGB color profile is *embedded* into your pictures, it will be carried over by APP/APG and your panorama will be in that profile. Howev...

Re: About generating HDR panoramas with RAW files and bracke

I suggest to import the bracketed series into Photomatix, have it made to HDR and use tonemapping. The results you can save as TIFF/8bit or TIFF16bit or as JPGs whatever you like. Klaus, what about : import bracketed series into Photomatix, create HDR (no tonemapping) , stitch in APG , and finally ...

Re: Best workflow order Giga Lightroom or Lightroom Giga

My suggestion would be :

Raw -> Lightroom (develop raw, white balance) -> Tiff (16 bits, Prophoto space)
Tiff -> Autopano -> Pano Tiff
Pano -> Photoshop , if further editing is required

assuming you need the highest quality for printing.

Hi Martin, I use LR (4.4) to develop my raws into tiff/16 bits before stiching. As you know, LR and Camera raw use the the same develop engine. I am not sure I understand your description of the problem, so I have several questions : . do you shoot your photos with all settings constant in manual mo...

Gilles, If I understand well your workflow, your RAW (or DNG) are developped in Photoshop (ie Camera raw) on one side, and in APG (DCRaw) on the other side ? If this is the case, the differences you noticed are coming from using two different RAW developers. CameraRaw is much much better than DCraw ...

Juan,

For information, two variations of the Sigma 50-500mm APO do have a lens profile , but only for raw files, not jpg.

In the lens correction section, choose 'manual' instead of 'profile' , and at the bottom you will find the vignetting correction.

One more question, when i tried just before to import some tiff 16 from LR, they looked very strange, very contrasted grainy. Much more than they appeared in LR. Is there a way to fix that? What color space did you use to export from LR ? don't use Prophoto outside LR , APP/APG is not fully color m...

In some cases LR saves the change commands in the file itself, instead of xmp ; but still these commands can only be interpreted by LR and are applied to the image only on export. Again my question about .pano file : did you keep it after your work on the control points ? If yes, it should contain t...

Hi Pipiroom, Welcome to the forum. If you made some changes to your raw files in Lightroom, these changes are stored in xmp files but are not applied to the raws. Only LR (and camera raw) can understand these changes, so you should be aware that the only way to produce modified images outside LR is ...

Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate this bug.
There are indeed several ways to select a Ctrl Pt, some are OK, one has the problem.
BTW, the problem was not present in 2.6.4
