Upgrade problem...

I am trying to upgrade from APP to APG. But something seems to be broken on the Ordering system. Following the instructions here: http://www.kolor.com/image-stitching-software-autopano-giga-faq.html I click on "My Account" at the top of that page. Then I click on My Upgrades I shows that APG 2.5 is ...

best, Klaus

not always after it is "optimized".
then the vertical-line-game is like chasing rabbits:
the fix is ok but another place on the horizon which was ok is no longer ok.

I have found the vertical line tool to be a hit and miss for horizons. For straightening building, it looks good. But for horizons, it often seems to be making each line straight by itself but does not move them all so they are at the same height relative to the bottom of the frame. And that is prob...

Thanks Klaus, But if you read my post from the beginning, you will see that this is different from the vertical lines tool. That tool does not work well for straightening out horizons. Sometimes it does but most of the time not. Alexandre recognized this and promised that the tool I described was "e...

So, Alexandre....

Is there any progress on this "Simple to code" issue by any chance?

Has it been incorporated in 2.6 and I did not notice?

Thank you!

This pano was actually taken in a suburb of Los Angeles where I currently moved back to. The image was not cleaned up and tonemapped. It is a straight 3 step bracket 7 images pano with all settings to default (except Multiband to -3 as suggested on the APP site) coming out of APP. Bo PS: Really miss...

UPDATE. OK, I re shot my pano with a tripod and a Nodal Ninja 3 head and this time I did a 3 step bracket ( -2, 0 , +2 ). I then redid the pano trying to follow the instructions as close as I could. In "Group Settings" > Panorama, I grouped in layers by speed In Render settings, I selected Exposure ...

Aha! Thank you mediavet. I wish that had been more clearly indicated in the tutorial. Would have kept me from wasting a whole bunch of time searching the help files and the forums.

Thank you.

Wow. Thank you for your reply Destiny. But this comes as a surprise as I do not have that icon in my version! I am using APP 2.5.2. Is this only available in APG? The tutorial I referenced above does not mention anything about that... BTW. I have read with great interest your 7 page account of your ...

Can APP handle a hand held bracket for fusion?

OK, clearly, in an ideal situation, a bracket should be done on a tripod with a remote, etc... But sometimes when you are hiking out you don't happen to have one with you. APP is excellent at stitching panos that were shot hand held. But what if I want to do a bracket for each frame ... also hand he...

Where is the "Fusion Tool window" ?

Hello again. i have decided to try my hand at the LDR methods mentioned in the docs here: http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/view/LDR_/_HDR_-_Workflow_case_B In Example 1, the text says: "To get a preview of the fusion in the editor, you only need to enable it on the fusion tool window." I have ...

I really like Lightzone a lot. It's kind of a photographer's interface on top of Photoshop. I often pop my panos in there after I'm done and hit the "Relight" icon. This analyzes the photo and adjusts gamma, saturation, white balance and contrast in a very "artistic" way. Most of the time the photo ...

Thank you tived. Speaking of Oz I also entered a handheld pano of the Sydney harbor at dusk. (the second one in the link from the original post). That was shot from the moving ferry. Thank you for the compliment Alexandre. Was that Kelly Slater cloned ? I'm not sure what you mean by that. Cloned in Photoshop ? It was simply multiple exposures on the subject with APP aligning the background (if that is what you mean). And then a TON of Photoshop cleanup of course. Moving crowd pl...

The 2011 Epson International Pano Awards

Hello esteemed APP community. I don't know if you are aware of this photo contest but I think Autopano is one of the sponsors. http://www.thepanoawards.com/ Anyway, a few months ago, a friend of mine told me about it and suggested I entered. I looked at the previous year's entries and thought "Wow, ...

As I mentioned, after trashing all 3 com files, things are now back to default and work perfectly.

Thank you for following up and for a great piece of software!

What do you use this ultra high resolution for? Large projections on buildings? Billboards?

Just out of curiosity... why shoot so many small images for a pano like that? Especially with a high quality full frame camera like a D700? Is this going to be projected on the side of a building? Could you have achieved the same results easier and faster with a wider lens and more overlap? I realiz...

I have been having similar issues. I discussed them in the bugs forum. http://www.autopano.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=78507#p78507 What finally solved the problem for me was to trash the preference files. Here is how Alexandre describes it: On windows, you can delete Kolor registry : HKEY_CURRENT_U...

OK, I trashed the 3 com.kolor files and re ran everything as described in the first post. First, I noticed that the Render gui now shows Anti-Ghost as the default. Second, the resulting pano is very good indeed. There is a slight bump/glitch on the horizon (right above the foreground pedestal) but t...

BTW, since this seems to be a problem of "bad settings" that are loading as default, it might be useful to have a "Restore Defaults" button somewhere. The one in the "Open folder" gui does not do that. At least not for the Render settings. This would then be a useful "first step to take" when debugg...
