GigaTiler does not export images for Zoomify folder structure I did not found any information on internet about a conversion tool. Maybe I have the bad version (1.0) Sorry, I used it with HDView. IIRC, Zoomify has a plugin for PS, so you could do it that way. see http://www.zoomify.com/photoshop.htm

Did you click on the CP editor button and try to add links? The other buttons may not work because you don't really have a pano. There are no links.

']And to complicate things, let's not forget this last test was done with 2.0.7, not 2.5, which is much more important :) So true [bo]. The main difference of rendering speed comes from the CPU. 24 cores against 16 cores. 80GB SSD are just as fast as 160 GB SSD. 2.0.7 doesn't seem to use all the me...

Just be aware that it adds significantly to the camera weight. Depending on how strong you are, this may not matter or it may matter a lot.

Hi Klaus, If only the sigma would have been a 200 euro lens..... but that is not what I want to discuss. I am shooting at f11. The f2.8 is there for when shooting other photos, like indoor partys, so anything but panoramas On the topic, if we can agree on the center of a lens being better (in gener...

the Battery Grip can hold two batteries (at least on a 5D) or use replaceable AA batteries. It does nothing to make the photos clearer, but it does allow you to hold the camera in portrait mode more easily. The grip adds weight, so depending on how strong you are, you may get more camera shake if yo...

There are some "rules of thumb"
1. if the HFOV is over 120 degrees, don't use planar. (some would say 90 degrees is the limit)
2. if the VFOV is over 120 degrees, use spherical. (again, some feel you can see distortion after 90 degrees.)

Pano heads are subjective, there are a lot of different versions of a ball head, all the same quality, but one has the grip horizontal, anther has it vertical, another has no handle, then there's the choice of quick release plates. Three way heads have similar issues. You have to go to a store and s...

I have the Manfroto 303sph. Its big, heavy, and adds roll because the rails are not sturdy enough. Also, you can't take a nadir shot with the camera on the tripod (or more precisely, with all three of the tripod legs properly placed on the floor.) Also, I don't know how Poland is, but you can't take...

So much for dreaming. Now onto your story. What does the price of a single 16GB stick in 5 years matter if most current motherboards do not support more than 16 GB of memory? Which current processor can fit on a 5 yo bus? Where can you find a current SSD with PATA bus to fit your 5 yo motherboard? ...

When 8 GB of 64 bit memory are available, Settings/General maximum is 4.20GB only (4304MB). I understand that some memory is needed to run the many different system process but is this 4.2 GB limit changed when more memory is available on the involved computer? I got 6.99 GB, but then I closed a co...

Boy, you do some work, and you find everyone wrote the post you wanted to write! My current system goes up to 192G RAM. A 16Gb RAM stick is just over $1100 see http://www.google.com/products?q=16Gb+ddr3+1x16gb&hl=en&scoring=p A 4GB is available at about $150 (there's an off brand for $105 but...) so...

Hank, how much memory do you have? PS: six 800 channels vs three 1333 channels, well if the laws of physics prevail then yes! but what has six channels? I have 16GB. The Beckton series of Xeons have 4 QPI per processor, so Dual processor gives you 8 memory channels (my 5504 only has 3 QPI per proce...

That system should be ok, depending on the quality of the pano you need. The wider the lens, the lower the overall pano resolution for a given camera body.

Been looking at laptops. I happen to like Dell because they are generally easy to upgrade. I'm torn between a studio 14" and studio 17". The 14 is a bit more portable, but it will go into my carry-on anyway. Weight is not an issue, its only a couple of pounds more (and I'm a big guy). The 17" gives ...
