Autopano Video Pro as a Plugin

To make further edits (cuts, fades, add text, more audio tracks, etc) to the stitched footage usualy requires rendering out the footage to intermediate files for further editing. This is time consuming, or either lossy or uses a lot of disk space. I'm wondering about the possibility of making an Aut...

Re: Adding spatial audio synced

It would be useful if you could add a 4-channel audio track and sync it to the vido already in AVP. It would make it easier to make further editing afterwards, with intermediate footage that already contains the audio tracks synced. Presuming, of course, that the audio can be added to the intermedia...

Custom cropping not applied from template panorama

I'm using AVP to project a pair of action cameras to 180x101 spherical stereoscopic VR videos. After I've cropped one scene to 180x101 degrees (-90 / 90; -50.50 / 50.50 degrees), and save that as a template to stitch the later takes recorded with the same rig; when I stitch the next pair of videos u...

Removing slow drift in stabilization? [SOLVED]

I have a video take that happens to be about 30 minutes long. When I calculated motion and applied stabilization to it, it turned out that even at low stabilization value (16% shaking only), the horizon very gradually drifts downwards across the length of the video. At 100% it's over 90 degrees - th...

Rendering on GPU on first AVP launch only

If I want to render my video on the GPU, I have to quit and restart AutoPano every time. If I start a New Project and render again, it's rendering on the CPU. Apparently, that is. I'm not sure if it is really the case, or if the info is only displayed wrong. When I render the second time, Isee this:...

Re: Kodak SP360 4K Stitching Template

That template is helpful, but the lens correction parameters aren't third degree. You may want to try and do your own lens calibration with your SP360 4k, with this APG tutorial: http://www.kolor.com/wiki-en/action/view/Autopano_Video_-_Lens_calibration_-_Camera_preset It's hard to get a perfect cal...

Re: Stereo alignment difficulties with AVP <-> Giga

I have kind of sort of found a workaround: after saving in Giga, stitch iv AVP again from Template and load the .pano you saved. This way all the changes get refreshed and updadted properly from Giga to AVP. But even this doesn't always seem to work. I adjusted the Pitch of the Right camera upwards ...

Stereo alignment difficulties with AVP <-> Giga

I'm trying to get a stereo camera pair (Left Only + Right Only) aligned properly by editing it in Giga. I stay in the Authoring tab in APG so that I can see my changes update in the Realtime Preview window as I save my changes in Giga. Sometimes the changes I make (crop, pitch, yaw, roll) refresh pr...

Re: Stereo-360°: How to adjust convergence?

Setting the Crop in Giga seems to have problems too, even when I am in Authoring mode it still doesn't always sync the crop value to AVP when I save the .pano.

Today I event got a "critical error: out of memory", and both AVP and Giga froze and crashed.

Re: Stereo-360°: How to adjust convergence?

I haven't seen any changes when adjusting Convergence either, so I can confirm.

I have to adjust the convergence and alignment in Giga in any case however so it's not a total blocker.

Re: Omni footage to youtube

There is a rendering setting: Aspect ratio. If you set it to "keep in display info" it will render the video exactly to the set size, and stretch the pixel aspect accordingly, without letterboxing. Since YouTube 360 video is projected onto a mesh, the video's aspect ratio does not matter -...

Stabilizing already stitched footage?

I have some 360 footage (equirectangular) that has already been stitched. Is there a way I can use AutoPano Video Pro to stabilize that too, or is it only possible during stitching?

Lens presets - FOV value not included

I've used Giga to make myself some 3rd degree lens calibration files for my action cams. These work great, except for one thing: The XML file used for lens presets and lens calibration don't have an entry for the camera's FOV value. Because of this whenever I stitch cameras using a lens preset, the ...

Re: Stereoscopic 360 video: AVP + Giga

I've had the same issue, with registered version of AVP + Giga. When I save my changes on the Giga camera adjustments, the realtime preview in AVP "updates" but the changes do not apply. I sometimes view the video in anaglyph to check the alignment of the pictures, and another oddness happ...

Re: Directional Sound?

The directional sound needs to be done separately, either by using a spatial audio microphone & recorder (starting from the Zoom H2n, the cheapest and simplest) or by authoring a B-format audio track with ambisoninc panning tools in a DAW. To get the audio into the video, you'll need to first re...

Re: Stitching in 8K

Is it because the software stretches the images and do some interpolation in between? That is correct. All the input video clips become 'virtual' and projected. They are scaled and rotated freely, and are lens corrected with a mesh that warps the video. So AutoPano is actually not totally bound to ...

Re: drawings

If you have a 360 video tour of a museum or such, you need to use software that can do motion tracking in 3D from video, then place objects (such as drawings) into the scene. SynthEyes is one option, but it's a bit difficult to use. Adobe After Effects (via Creative Cloud) can do it too. There are s...

180x180 (or less) stereo videos, anyone?

How many users are here who focus more on 180x180 (or less) and stereoscopy, than 360 camera arrays? Back a few years ago GoPro released their 3D housing which became fairly popular, and at around that time I was also experimenting with pairing action cameras to record wide angle POV stereo footage,...

Re: 360 degree video v/s VR video

"VR video" is a bit of a misnomer since Virtual Reality is supposed to mean computer-generated graphics, interactive 3D scenes and games, not video per se. But "VR video" is so commonly used that I guess we'll have to accept and include video in the definition. Then we have exper...

Re: Cropped stereo render (for Samsung VR, etc) [DONE]

Oh, never mind - solved! The cropping didn't work when I tried it with the trial version, but now (after I bought it) it works. I was able to set the crop to 180x101 degres and render a video with much less wasted black space.

Cropped stereo render (for Samsung VR, etc) [DONE]

Rendering a limited section of the 360 panorama would be a nice feature. I have some older stereo pair 16:9 action cam footage (not 360) and AVP + APG is a great combo to lens correct it to rectilinear, and re-render it for VR viewing. I can already use the 1:1 aspect in the Authoring tab to make 18...

Re: Adding spatial audio synced

Yeah... all i hear there is raspy clicking. It's possible that YouTube converts it wrong if you upload it as a mov? (what was the audio codec in that uploaded file?) I uploaded this earlier 360 video of mine, a direct Zoom H2n recording, as an mp4 with the audio encoded from wav to AAC using FFMPeg,...

Re: How do you package/distribute your 360 video content?

Samsung VR supports spatial audio (4 channels) on Gear VR.

Facebook has recently also added support for spatial audio, but it seems laggy: when you rotate the view, the rotation of the soundscape seems to lag behind.
