"Nice" render priority for batch render

Hi, Adding a CPU priority option to the batch renderer would be a very useful option. When rendering it pegs all 8 cores at 100%, which makes doing anything else on the machine sluggish. This can be done through the task manager, but it would be nice to automate that through AVP. Cheers, Craig

Samsung Gear 360 camera support

Hi, Support for video from the Samsung Gear 360 camera would be great. The video comes in as a single file with the front/back views side by side, and 190-ish degree FOV on each camera. Cropping out the each video is a pain, and the stitching doesn't handle the back-to-back videos particularly well....

Oculus/Vive real time preview.

It would be great to be able to preview pano videos in real time (or as close to as you can get) in the Oculus or Vive headsets. Things look very different in the headset compared to spread out flat on a screen, and having to render the movie, fire up the Oculus app, load the video takes time. Direc...

Re: Flickering around masks with static video?

I've rendered out some tests using the patching as you suggested, and while it works in some cases it's also introducing another problem. We have people moving behind the tripod, and there's good footage of their feet and legs from a side camera that doesn't see the tripod. With the masks it brings ...

Re: Flickering around masks with static video?

Thanks, I will give that a try. Unfortunately we're on a very fast turnaround for these shots, so any additional work makes life a bit more difficult. It still does seem odd that any sort of masking between two essentially static bits of video shouldn't blend in a consistent way between frames?

Re: Flickering around masks with static video?

Hi Claire, Unfortunately neither of those improves the situation. Both "linear" and "none" blend types just leave a black gap where the mask kicks in : linear_blend.jpg And setting the multiblend lower (to a value of 3) just makes the blend very blocky, but still shows flickering...

Flickering around masks with static video?

Hi, I'm using masks in APG to remove chunks of our tripod, and I'm getting weird flickering at the boundaries between two videos in AVP, even though the cameras are perfectly still, and there's very little change in the videos. This show's how I've set the mask up in APG for the tripod shot9_masks.j...

Re: AVP 2.3 skipping/duplicating frames on output video

I'm stuck rendering in 2.2 at the moment, the 2.3 output to mp4 just isn't usable for any fast moving footage. A fix to this is pretty important, it's definitely a bug that's been introduced in the 2.3 update.

Blending priorities for each image/video

It would be great to have a the ability to add a blending priority for each image or video in the panorama. When the rendering the blend would favour images with higher priority, pushing the blend line deeper into the images with lower priority. PTGui has this, and it works really well in lots of ca...

Re: Audio and video streams change in MP4 files

Our workflow is to stitch all the shots of our video, edit those together into a single final movie (with soundtrack) , then get feedback on that from the client, who generally watches it in a gear Vr. If there are aspects of the stitch/stabilize they don't like we work more on that, re-render those...

Re: 99% and stuck on batch rendering.

I'm seeing the same behaviour on AVP 2.3.2. It doesn't happen on every render, but a few overnight batches have been wasted when an early render locked at 99%. This is using synchronous GPU rendering.

Re: Audio and video streams change in MP4 files

As stated this does affect video editing software. Randomly permuting the stream ID's in your output for identical renders seems like a bug. It would be great if this could be fixed.

Audio and video streams change in MP4 files

I've noticed when re-rendering a video multiple times to MP4 files that the index of the audio and video streams in the file seem to be different across multiple renders. Here's the ffprobe result from a first render (at 3072x1536) with audio on stream index 0 and video on stream index 1 Input #0, m...

Re: Drop Frames or Jumping frame since 2.3

This is a duplicate of http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=30657 It's been reported for a while and nothing has been fixed yet. Changing the GPU to synchronous can improve it slightly but not fix it. CPU only rendering does fix it, but too slow to be of much use. I'm still going back...

AVP videos getting out of sync in preview and export

Hi Claire It's definitely nothing to do with the blending preview in APG (and is wrong regardless of the preview state). As I said, if you look at the two images in my first post you can clearly see they're not from the same video frames. Look at the hair on the left hand side of the frame. AVP show...

Hi Claire,

I'm running in GPU synchronous mode. I'll upload some videos and PM you a link to download.

Thanks,

Re: Stitch very different between APV and APG?

Me again, Chopped the input videos down to 1500 frames and all the problems immediately vanished. A sequence that was a nightmare to stitch suddenly became (almost) a single button job. There's definitely something getting out of sync with longer input videos, in this case at least. These were shot ...

Re: synchro Issue

Also remember that the cameras aren't frame synchronized, so they can be up to half a frame out of time from each other. Even that small amount can be visible with faster moving things. I've found GoPro's audio to be very poorly synced to the video as well, syncing by audio has been several frame di...

Re: Stitch very different between APV and APG? (Definite bu

More testing on this shows that AVP is getting the frames out of sync between the videos. You can see in the shot in the previous post the hair is definitely from a different frame, so AVP is exporting different frames to AGP than it's showing on the preview. I'm pretty sure it's either showing or e...

Stitch very different between APV and APG?

I've come across a case where I'm seeing a very different stitch in AVP compared to APG. Compare the two attached images, showing the preview in Autopano Video (2.3.0), and the what I see in in Autopano Giga (4.2.3) after I hit edit in AVP and AGP fires up. It's definitely not just a blending issue,...

Re: AVP 2.3 skipping/duplicating frames on output video

Hi Martin,

Yes, it appears rendering in 2.2 (set to synchronous) gets the correct result. Looks like something crept in during the 2.3 update?

Cheers,

Craig.

Re: AVP 2.3 skipping/duplicating frames on output video

Hi Martin, I've rendered the entire job with the GPU set to synchronous, and unfortunately the results are much better, but still not 100%. It's gone from several glitches per second down to one every few seconds. While better, it's still not good enough for a final product, particularly in somethin...

Re: AVP 2.3 skipping/duplicating frames on output video

Thanks Martin, That seems like it's the problem. It was on asynchronous, switching to synchronous looks good. A quick test of that shot looks fine, I'm re-rendering the entire job now to make sure it's all good. Render speed only took a small hit doing this (15fps down to 13fps) so I'll definitely l...

AVP 2.3 skipping/duplicating frames on output video

Hi, I'm stitching panos from 5 GoPro sessions, filmed at 1280x960, 59.94Hz. Previewing the panorama frame by frame in AVP I'm seeing good results, but when I render the video I'm seeing duplicated and skipped frames in the result. It looks like the previous frame is being pulled from the camera vide...

Re: best syncronization method

I'm using GoPros and gave up on claps. The audio can be several frames out from the video. A quick roll of the camera unit (about 2 seconds, about 45 degrees in all directions) gives me really good sync in everything I've tried so far. If you can see simultaneous movement in all 6 cameras than it sh...
