I am looking into building a dual e5 system similar specs to a Mac Pro 2013 but running Windows and using a GTX 980. Was hoping to get some benchmark guidance before spending that much cash.
We found out that AMD's firepro are really good too. The best GPU we tested yet was the W700 from macpro ( which is a derived gpu from AMD W8000 ). Benchmark page here: http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/view/Autopano_Video_-_Benchmarking could you explain that a bit more, how a dual gpu machin...
"Shooting 8k already is a real big thing. Processing and distributing 8k in perfect quality (and otherwise 8 k definitely makes no sense at all) is a nightmare. " We can shoot with multiple 4k cameras, stitch & post in max resolution (8k+) in a mezzanine format (without needing real-ti...
I am sure I must have misunderstood your points, because you seemed to be arguing for arguments sake and not making points really related to the feature request. If you are happy with 4k mp4 (mainconcept codec), bless your soul, but that is NOT the case over here.
absolutely agree, we need an api which would allow command line operation and renderfarms. according to Kolor's advertised specs (but very outdated), earlier versions used multiple gpu's (at least in the 2013 Mac pro) and saw greatly increased fps in render times. Bottlenecks soon become network spe...
Seems like Klaus is missing the fact that it's almost always better to capture and process in a resolution higher than your delivery resolution, and some of don't delivery the output from AVP directly, it's just one step in the post production process. For now, we are stuck with exporting 16-bit tif...
In AVP 2.2 beta 4, the stitching options have boved to a toolbox. There seems to be an option missing that was there before, "Stitch as..." which allowed me to change the focal length of my lenses.
Is there such an ability still, just hidden somewhere else?
I have been working pretty exclusively in ProResHQ and ProResProxy, 4 cameras, 4k (3840x2160) Mediainfo: Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : QuickTime Codec ID : qt File size : 1.19 GiB Duration : 57s 758ms Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 176 Mbps uk.co.thefoundry.Applicatio : Nuke ...
I can change it, but I would have had to write down the max size somewhere, it doesn't appear anywhere after that first export. Working on hundreds of shots over several shows, this becomes a metadata nightmare for such a simple thing.
A bug I have found in AutoPano Video Pro 2.2.0 beta 3 (windows 64 bit): Open a project and do whatever. File -> New Project or Open Project. AVP will crash immediately, or as soon as new video files are loaded. Same behaviour if you File -> Close Project then File -> Open Project. Only workaround ha...
Here is a bug I have found in Autopano Video Pro 2.2.0 b3 (windows 64 bit) Load 4x ProResHQ 3840x2160 files, stitch, render (Note: "Maximum Size allowed by source: 5426x2713") to mp4 UHDTV preset (3840x1920), save project. Reopen project, change render settings to Frames, Tiff, 16-bit, No ...
Is there any way to call AVP from the command line if a kava file is already made & render presets are saved? This would be one element in enabling a renderfarm or at least time shifting the renders to a certain time on certain machines via cron jobs
I think the best I can do right now is the mediainfo data: General Complete name : C:\Users\fixer\Videos\cam_1_stab_v001.mov Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : QuickTime Codec ID : qt File size : 1.83 GiB Duration : 22s 356ms Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 703 Mbps Encoded date : ...
We have been using ProResHQ and ProRes Proxy files on Windows & OSX, both version 2.2.0b3 and it's been great. Today we tried loading some ProRes 4444 files and they would not load - gave us a green square in the preview window. On both platforms, these files play in Quicktime/VLC/Media Player b...
GoPro 2.7k 4:3 actually records 2704x2032. this is the right resolution for best mp4 encoding (16x16 macroblocks) GoPro then sets the metadata to force the player to display at 4:3 ratio (2704x2028). This means the player is interpolating squished pixels, adding softness while throwing out data For ...
