Hi, I have shot a night panorama at full moon. I have shot it in RAW, camera Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000, focal length 400mm, exposure for each shot 50 seconds. I am plagued by some vignetting in the clear dark blue sky. I am using different approaches to avoid the vignetting but so far all of them f...
OK, so in order to edit the 300 000+ pixel panorama in PhotoShop I have to use the OpenEXR output? I guess the file becomes rather large because of the 32-bit representation?
Hi, I am trying to export my panorama to PSB format for some final touches in PhotoShop. However, it seems APG won't let me export more than 300 000 by 150 000 image into PSB format. It will let me export larger image in KRO format though. Is this a limitation of the file format? In this case what f...
This is a very welcome idea. However, I don't know how to make APG create an HDR-like exposure fusion, i.e. keep the skies with clouds pretty blue and nice and the landscape brighter so that trees are not too dark. Is there a reading about it, or an option to explore in APG?
This is an original raw file (*.rw2) and the screenshot is from Adobe Camera RAW when I try to open in Photoshop. I don't think it would behave differently in Lightroom...
Is there another way to see what is the bitdepth of the file?
Hi Klaus, If I'm looking in the right place, Camera RAW says "8-bit". Sounds odd, as I hoped it to be at least 10 bit. Is there somewhere else to look for proper info? (I don't have Lightroom installed on the laptop yet) Ha, was just wondering why have the Benro guys put a hook on the lowe...
Yes, it seems it was 2.0 zoom by default. Reduced it to 1.0. Looks better now. This is an old pano - shot it two days ago, this was the test for RAW and JPG shooting. This particular one has been done with the JPGs at high compression and moderate noise reduction. I had to skip the RAW processing as...
Klaus, I didn't cut any information from the screenshot, in fact I don't see anything that looks like Theta on the information screen either. What I see is each row is made of 45 sequential images, the leftmost one has a Yaw axis rotation of -56 degrees, the rightmost one has a Yaw rotation of +67. ...
Klaus, This is not a correct observation. I do read a lot. I don't brag about it but I do. Last but not least don't forget that I've only got 4 weeks until departure and the more I learn by then the more successful the shots will be. So, unfortunately I don't have all the time on Earth to read throu...
Andrew, I played with the second one - Mosaic Garden - when I imported the XML it also came in as Spherical. Is this so with your setup too? If I try to switch over to Planar - quite distorted, same as my example screenshot. Can you get this panorama in Planar projection without any distortions? Kla...
Thanks Andrew, I'll give those a try. Klaus, if you have read what I answered to Andrew a few posts ago, you would have noticed I am after a less than 90 degree FOV. I believe planar should work excellent in such a case. Yes, I know there is something wrong with the setup and I need to learn more, b...
Thanks Andrew! How do I get Kolor to look at it? Wait until (and if) someone from their support notices the thread? Or go ahead and try their paid support? In the meantime, if you have XMLs that import properly into APG, can you share one, so I can take a look inside and try to determine what could ...
Hi Andrew, HFOV is barely 90 degrees. I am planning to use Krpanotools, not Panotour Pro. This is the page where it's mentioned (second feature in the list): http://krpano.com/tools/kmakemultires/#top It looks like this distortion appears when I am using your workaround for the disappearing panorama...
Hi, I am shooting a panorama with the T&C controller in Mosaic mode but for some reason when I import the XML with images the resulting panorama is Spherical. If I switch to Planar (as it should be) the panorama looks too distorted, see the screenshots. The focal length is 400 mm. This happens b...
Yesterday I discussed bracketing with Josef, he said he has a firmware version that supports multiple brackets with a single shot impulse, which allows me to use the camera bracket burst mode - takes all the shots in less than a second. So, this is not an issue but the processing afterwards is. Does...
Yes, I am going to carry the VAIO with me, with 50+ blu-ray disks, so I could backup shots reliably and inexpensive. It's the electricity that's scarce. I hope the solar panels will keep up to the expectations. Yes, there will be a lot of reflections, I am not sure how will the sky be relative to th...
Klaus, The filenames are not as you expect them because this was shot as a 7-bracket sequence, 0, -1, +1, -2, +2, -3, +3 So, in order to comply with your suggestion, I deleted -1,+1,-3 and +3, that's why so many numbers are missing in-between. But in my experience if I tell Photomatix to get 3 image...
So, Klaus, will you specify which shot filenames are not -2,+2 or 0, and also which ones exhibit the wrong orientation, so I can check them at my end? Never seen such errors here...
Klaus, All the images uploaded are ONLY 0, -2 and +2. Can you tell me a filename that is not one of those exposure biases? I didn't get such a warning by the Photomatix - they either fixed that in my version or this kind of error messages are suppressed in batch mode. Again, can you tell me which th...
Hi Klaus, Yes, I got an email from Josef as well. Very informative. Although he says the head is best fit for focal length of 100mm or less, Kolor specify the Panogear as <200mm, I still believe it works just fine for my 400mm lens, the couple of test panoramas look just fine, precision is not an is...
