APG4 problems

We are running a large stitch form our Terabite project. These have been stitched with APG 3, and we are trying 4 to see if the results are better. They are disastrously worse! And we can't see why. Here is the result: APG4 Problem.PNG Note especially that the FOV is assumed to be square in the resu...

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea
The image seems to indicate that you indeed shot spherical . . did you? Or how EXACTLY did you shoot this? You linked to a site which showes a rig for planar - x y - shooting. How did you use it? How did you place a painting on it? Which distance did you use for shooting? Klaus I´m absolute...

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea

Hi... Don't forget too, that you have straightening tools in the Edit section of APG.. But.. For what you are doing you need to be careful that you do not alter the integrity of the original artwork.. There is an auto tool for this too... What I suggest you do is render twice so you have a copy and...

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea

I am reproducing images of paintings. So you don´t reproduce paintings but images - reproductions - photographed from paintings? The goal is very high resolution, From already reproduced paintings? very deep focus macro images. These are being used for (amongst other things) for art authentication....

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea

Hi.. Strangly enough I have seen something like this being captured, but it was mounted against a wall. It was like a CNC with a camera attached.. I only saw it in action I did not see the final result.. I am assuming your gear works in a similar way.. What I suggest you do is go to the Panorama Ta...

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea

What are you referring to? (please use the "quote" option - it´s easier to see what one´s referring to). IF you mean my last post where is said that i misunderstood/misread your term "produce images of art": I first read "reproduce images of art". As is understand what...

Re: Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing plea

Thanks for your response! Can you tell some details about the head and your alignment? I don´t know the head at all. You can see all about it here: http://www.gigamacro.com/gigapixel-macro-imaging-system/ Does it record xml-data? Did you consequently al...

Shooting art and getting curved edges - help fixing please?

I am using apg to produce images of art. The edges are, obviously, straight. However when we process the images, each edge is bowed towards the art, at the center. Photos are shot using a Magnify2 robotic system, so alignment is very precise. I'll include the project metadata below. We are using the...
