To Klaus: My process also work with close persons. What I am actually doing is also erasing the unwanted persons. 1/ Note that I am using ptgui only with the main exposure to create accurate masks: red for what I want to delete and green for what I want to keep. In itself, the use of ptgui allows me...

To Photonicwand: Here is my recipie to stitch perfect panoramas with moving people in HDR with APG ((APG, exposure fusion, no need to use Photomatix): http://www.kolor.com/forum/p108992-2012-12-20-21-09-06#p108992 It is time consuming but deterministic ! All these panoramas were processed using this...

For Nikon, the Samyang lens exists in AE mode : Hence you can automatically control exposure and you get exif data.

This is the fisheye I use now for my spherical panoramas and I am happy with it, even if I sometime find that it lacks sharpness.

To Klaus: I experimented the red and green marking with success only once: there was not bracketing and a very limited number of objects to remove. My issue was not to remove the moving objects : they are part of the scenes and they contribute to give life to the panoramas. My purpose was to make sure that a given set of pixels of the resulting panorama would be either 100 % or 0 % a moving object (car, pedestrian...) in order to avoid ghosting...

Tools to stitch panoramas with moving persons

For my New-York panoramas (see post in Panorama Gallery), I had to create a specific process to adress the fact that there were always many people moving while I shooted bracketed (3 brackets) panoramas. I had to use PTGUI (in demo mode) with its masking capability (and associated mask saving) in or...

Thank you Hans There were two reasons for this name: - First reason is the one you noted - "True" is in a certain way opposite to "Virtual" - Furthermore, as you know, a panorama is not a true image: when you see it, it appears as frozen space and time, while it is constituted of pictures taken at d...

Thank you

Every panorama is about 2.5 to 3 Mbytes. the preview is an equirectangular b&w image (cat. 500 kbytes) and the color panorama is in cubic format (6 cube faces). The too long loading time may also be caused by the server where my site is stored.

Panotour compatibility with android 4.1

I just noted that Android 4.1 does not support Adobe Flash Player. What about the compatilbility of Panotour and Panotour Pro with Android 4.1 ?

My understanding is that Krpano is embedded in Panotour; KRPANO exists in 2 different versions: Flash and HTML. Which one does Panotour handle ?

Thank you

To Nanard This is not what I intended to write. Sorry, for having been unclear. I fully share your view that encapsulating (or converting or whatever word you want to use) a 14 bit raw into a 16 bit, 32 bit, 64 bit (or whatever you want) format will not add information. But when you process a RAW im...

Why don't you save as 16 bit tif files? This is a standard format that will allow you to edit your panoramas and get the best out of it. RAW in itself is not a MUST. This is only (!!!) the best format out of a digital camera, because raw files include the information captured by the sensor when you ...

As mentioned in my previous post, I use PTGUI (demo version, for free!) for spherical panoramas and I can thus generate very accurate masks that I use then in Gimp or photoshop to create .png files as inputs to APG. Did you try it with your own non spherical panoramas? Go to jmh.trp.free.fr/New-York...

The way I would to it (time consuming, but straightforward and flexible in term of final result) is: - Put all the images together in order to generate a unique .pano file! - Mask the ghosts (Gimp, Photoshop) and generate (with the .pano) a panorama without any ghosts - Make holes in the images (at ...

There may be many causes to this difference. One, that I have experienced recently was due to the calculation of the focal lenth by the software. I had however forced the value before panorama detection, but APG had changed it during detection, causing the panorama dimensions to be different from wh...
