Autopanopro 2.6 beta 2

APP 2.6 beta 2 fails to initialize when I use my Linux system. I am currently running Fedora 15 (Gnome 3) on a laptop. Similar problems also with a desktop computer running same system (F15) KDE. Any help would be appreciated. Typically the *.sh file is the script file that executes the program. Whe...

The extracted file folder autopano was completely moved into the 'usr/share' directory. With alacarte you simply add the program's executable file (in this case autopano.sh) because it works in Ubuntu but not in Fedora 14 or Opensuse 11.4 64-bit. I tried running the program by running in termainl by...

Initializing APP 2.5.1 in either Fedora 14 or Opensuse 11.4

I typically switch Linux distro's every couple months to keep up to speed with the development of the top '4' i.e. Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSuse, and Debian. The problem I'm having in both Fedora and now OpenSuse 11.4 (which I'm now currently using at this moment) is getting the program to initialize whe...

APP 2.5 Final NOT running from Ubintu 10.10 menubar.

Not really a bug but an issue maybe I can be helped with. Using the Gnome Menu I can't get APP2.5 to initiate after setting up the program in the Gnome menu application. The executable file will not start when I run it from the Gnome menu bar. I don't much like executing the program from the command...

I guess I was a bit anxious to try out Ubuntu 9.10 beta 64-bit. I installed it last night and updated all of the files only to find out there is some kind of kernel problem I guess with the newest kernel. I was also running Nvidia 185 (latest driver) for my video card. Can't say where the problem re...

Problems with APP 2.05 on latest Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit beta

Installed APP 2.05 64-linux version last night on latest Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit beta. I've tried to stitch 6 easy photo's together that worked with 2.04 and I can't get anything but garbled mess in rendering screen. I used default settings. I have also changed settings in other places to see if results ...

I was wondering what lens and camera did you use for these pano's? The parasailing shots are terrific. Gives you these sense that you are actually there doing the hang gliding. . ..

If you use Windblows and subscribe to the mentality of Microsoft, I'd suggest you empty your savings account and buy as many registered versions you can afford for all the machines in your physical possession. Jeez. . . . .

I'm now primarily using Fedora 10 (soon to be 11) both 32 and 64 bit versions. On occasion I have tried other distros ( I enjoy hopping from one to another to see what improvements have been made in the latest versions.) My other favourites are Ubuntu/Kubuntu and Mandriva and OpenSuse. For now Fedor...

APP 2.01 software bugs. . . .

If you go into Broswe Folder, 'select' auto detection', select 'don't mix landscape and portrait' , select 'group by focal' after the software groups the photo's it thinks it has detected as panoramas, I still find portrait and landscape photo's in the the same filtered groupings. Also 'group by foc...

APP2 bugs

Purchased APP2 and installed it into Fedora 10 Linux. Has several bugs. 1) Program crashes when occassionally rendering without any known reason. 2) Error message about a file qt 4.5.1 being experimental and not accepted. 3) In Browse Folder, checking don't mix landscape and portrait does not change...

Bryce Revisited. . . . .

Having stitched 800 photo's into 59 panoramas I selected some of the best for everyones viewing pleasure.
The camera used was a Canon 20D with a Sigma 17-35 mm lens. With a 1.7X crop factor the efl of the lens is
actuall 29mm-59mm. The panos ranged from 4 to 33 photo's per panorama.
Enjoy.

Something that I wish to attempt to experiment with is image stacking. With the camera on a stationary tripod and pano head . .. take a series of pictures adjusted to the same f/stop setting and use the shutter speed to take a series of underexposed shots, then repeat the process to overexpose the v...

My computer is a Linux machine so all of the photo's have been doctored with the 'Gimp'. I also used Picasa beta3 for the size compression and uploads. The pictures were all taken as jpegs. If I had the time I would have shot them all 'raw' and manipulate them in the 'raw' format mode with other sof...

I apologize for not giving more details on the pictures. Pano29 is nearby the entrance to the S. entrance of Canyonlands Nat'l Park in S. Utah down by Moab, Utah. This picture is of a place called 'Newspaper Rock' . It depicts ancient petroglyphs Anasazi and or Fremont Indians that lived in this are...

Capitol Reef, Utah

Canon 20D F/14 28mm 32-stitch photo's with 1.4.1 (Linux) . It appears it does a better job stitching. I should have included both 1.4.0 vs 1.4.1.

Great Software.

If you start viewing the pano moving from the left to the right side at about 3/4 from the right side toward the front (bottom) of the picture you've got misalign images, possible duplicate ghosting of the same image twice, something in that area is not right and incorrectly stitched. Other than tha...

photo sorting groups

I'm not sure how the sorting is done in autopanopro but I think it is time related. If so I think other variables should be also taken into account. I notice that the pictures that are sorted correctly also have the same f/stop and shutter speeds. I think these should be added into the algorithm for...
