Third question

I've decided to work on the classic spherical output projection so far. As I understand it is impossible to cycle the view when the output projection is set to planar. That is what I've got so far http://360tomsk.ru/Panda/fin/tour.html I just want to aks one more question. I've got these rectangular...

Re: Planar projection - inserting videos and cycling the pan

Thanks for assistance. I managed to insert the videos (it turned out that if a rectangle of a video is to small - PTP sets its width to 0 - I managed to change it by editing xml files. In spherical projection the width is not measured in abstract units but in pixels - so it was ok with spherical fro...

Re: Planar projection - inserting videos and cycling the pan

Oops, I misused the terms - yes the pano was actually equirectangular 360-180 (later it was cropped to apprx. 120 ) I was talking about the projection of this equirectangular image in the final .swf project. It is probably called plane projection in English not planar. I'd better use two examples 1 ...

Planar projection - inserting videos and cycling the pano

Hello again, I'm using PTP 1.6 to made a video tour like this one http://bamboo.tomsk.ru/tour/?id=1 I have a 360-120 pano image and 3 .flv video files with alpha-channel. Using spherical projection and normal view I got the following result http://360tomsk.ru/Panda/tour.html It has sufficient qualit...

When I made the tour at the link above I didn't enable mobile devices support so I do not know if that one will work with Ipad. I'll try to build a sample tour with the shadowbox and mobile support enabled. I think Destiny told me that it will not work on mobile devices but I didn't check it - I don...

There is this shadowbox thing being discussed lately - perhaps if you use shadowbox with a video file for displaying the videos instead of a simple pop-up video the speed will be faster as the video will start to load only when you click on the hotspot. And you can also gain controls of the video wh...

What kind of software was used to make this rotating glass-thing? is kolor?
Tonio - for right now people use shadowbox and a url hotspot to open such swf inside the tour (but probably Destiny has finally found a new way)

picaddict Light and shadowbox is the only good solution I've found so far. At my computers the tour that you;ve shown on the link above is jerky when you turn round the panorama - I guess that is due to wmode=transparent attribute used to put the lightbox window above the flash container. When I mad...

Just check every single image before stitching - if these dots are in the images than the software is not to blame. Looks like a spot on the lens or a flare or dust on the sensor.

In project properties (tour creation menu (or something like that I don;t know the exact name in english)) there is a field of restricted domain (the very last field after html templates, include all data and include all xml files). Did you write your domain name in this field?

Ok - it was easy only in my imagination ) - I though if a hotspot my turn a video on and a different hotspot may load the next pano it would be easy to create a hotspot that would do the first function and then do the second one. I really don't know a lot about flash

I mean Klaus and MART understood the idea.
In short the question is - is it possible to create a hotspot (by editing xml) that first plays a video, then loads a panorama? (or plays a video while loading panorama - kind of combining video hotspot and transition hotspot)

Yes that is exactly what I wanted. It doesn't really matters what the extension of the video will be - avi, mp4 or flv - everything is fine. The problem is - I don't know how to make a hot spot play a video first and than load a different panorama (or do it simultaneously). I suppose it is not that ...

Video transition between panoramas

I just wanted to ask - Has someone tried it? Suppose if I have x and y panos and z.avi and I want that when a user goes from x to y he would watch a video transition (a video clip or a slideshow of a rout from x room to y room (it is quite easy to shoot a pano from a tripod then make a short movie c...

You can also put your animation in the templates folder of PTP - in this case - each frame will be a separate file and you will be able to use these animations from the PTP UI.

Just create a tour with standart animated arrows - find them in the tour directory - each is a png file (spot01.png, spot02.png...etc) in a form of a ten frames animation strip - replace the frames with your own and remember that each frame's width and height is 65 pixels. I try to create new animat...

I would use URL hotspots for this purpose (with _self attribute) - it is easy to store several tour on the server and clicking on a hotspot within one tour would load a different tour
If you can read .xml and know the code you can even make a dropdown menu that would load different tours

Making spherical panos without a tripod and panohead is a challenge - I doubt it can be done right with only a camera and a wide-angle lens even if it is only 4 images

I always set 5.6 and 0.7 m focus - it is enought to get good sharpness from 0.7 to infinity. Although I do 8 pictures on a crop body.
