Malwarebytes Detects Ransomware when building Panotour

I am using the latest version of Panotour Pro 2.5. Today when I attempted to build a Panotour, Malwarebytes detected ransomware and automatically quarantined PanotourPro_x64.exe and 2 other files in the Panotour Pro 2.5 folder. Below is a copy of the Malwarebytes log file. Malwarebytes http://www.ma...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

I recently sent Arsenal this question "With a Sony A7Rii where are the original files stored? I have had conflicting reports that when connect via the USB port the A7Rii is not capable of writing files to the SD card. Is the Arsenal communicating with A7Rii via USB port or via WIFI? Here is the...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

Yes, Gigapan can monitor flash sync. Problem is that if you are doing a focus stack the first image in the stack would trigger it causing the Gigapan to think the camera is ready to advance to next position. I have tried to convince Promote to send signal on shutter release at the end of the focus s...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

No, Arsenal does not state anywhere on their website about sending image back to SD card. In an email Ryan stated " When we stack, we keep the original files as well (RAW or JPG) We'll probably add an option to have them deleted after merge, but that will be optional ". I do not know if he...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

Danial, I was not aware of the limitation in Sony cameras that when USB is connected it could not write to the SD card. Arsenal alludes that once the focus stacked image is done it sends it back to the SD card. Me recollection of a phone conversation I had with Ryan at Arsenal, was that one also had...

Re: APG + Sigma Fisheye 8mm f3,5 + R20W rotator

The Sigma Fisheye 8mm f3,5 lens and Google R20W rotator is designed to be use with APS-C (DX) Cameras. You indicate that you are using D800 which is a Full Frame camera. Using this 8mm lens on a FF camera results in huge distortions at corners of the image. I am fairly certain the lens correction fr...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

Danial -- Yes, you are correct 1760 seconds is slightly more than 29 minutes. As you say, unfortunately, Promote Control doesn't work with Sony A7Rii. I also have a A7Rii which is why I have the Arsenal on pre-order. Unfortunately the Arsenal will not take a shutter release from the pano head on the...

Re: Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

Daniel, I find that about the practical maximum focal length I recommend is 150mm. While my methods could be used with 400mm - 600mm lens (and any Nodal Head, including Seitz VR Drive) it is far too time consuming when considering shooting 1000-2000 images. Reason is that the focus stacking is done ...

Focus Stacking Gigapixel Panoramas

As most of us that shoot Gigapixel photos know, as soon as one attaches a telephoto lens to our camera, the Depth of Field and HyperFocal Distance severely limits having both near and distant objects in focus. This past 2 years I have perfected the technique of shooting Focus Stacked Stitched Panora...

PanoTour Takes 10 min to launch [SOLVED]

I have experienced this issue for months. Every time I launch Panotour Pro Ver2.5.8 it will take some 10 minutes to launch. Windows often times out saying program is unresponsive. If I tell windows to wait for application to run it will eventually launch. Once launched it seems to function normally....

Re: Planer View of Panorama Starts Too Zoomed In

Martin,
Thanks for the clarification. I am curious if you noticed any longer load times of the tours using spherical compared to planar?

John

Re: Planer View of Panorama Starts Too Zoomed In

I'm Sorry, I had my terms mixed up. Instead of "Little Planet" I should have used Spherical. I have attached an example of the settings I get when attempting to do a Planar mode. You will note that the Fov to the right side of Preview is defaulting to .43.

Re: Planer View of Panorama Starts Too Zoomed In

So... in an earlier post on this thread I stated that if I use the Little Planet view it worked as far as getting the right zoom level when I start the tour. This remains true. However, I am finding that the load times for the Little Planet version is much longer. I have created a couple of tours us...

I don't think so. I totally deleted the folder that was created when I built the older version on the assumption that an older version was interfering.

Re: Planer View of Panorama Starts Too Zoomed In

When I turn off Auto Rotation I get the same result. I have been using the Planer Projection mode. I notice that the Fov value defaults to .33 which is far too small for the image I am working with. If I select Little Planet mode it automatically calculates 17.72 which is much closer to expected val...
