Is it OK to rotate the head by hand?

I just got a used panogear head and while mounting the camera (D700 +16mm fe) on the straight rail (the rail in horizontalposition), I rested my hand on the rail and it gave in and rotated downwards. I've noticed that it's relatively easy to rotate the head on both axis(upper and base rotator) using...

How to get the thumbnail displayed on FB? (Not embed)

Hi I'm not trying to embed the tour on FB. All I want to do is, that when I paste the link I'd like there to be a little thumbnail/preview of my panorama in the post instead of just a blank space. How do I do that? P.S. No data/XML embedded in the tour. Here's my current html: <!DOCTYPE html> <html>...

I refocused only once for the 2 bottom rows. I shot it from the terrace of a new office building and it took me about half an hour.

Fullscreen doesn't work when tour uploaded to a server???

Hello. I'm experiencing a problem with a tour (a gigapanorama actually) that runs fullscreen locally but not when uploaded to a server. I've tried FF, IE and Chrome and nothing happens when I click the "fulscreen" button. Any suggestions? Here's the link: http://virtuastudio.pl/gallery/virtual/giga%...

The krpano viewers incorporate the code which enables a different UI to be delivered to different platforms but Panotour Pro does not yet offer a means to specifiy this via its GUI.

Looks like another point on future PTP wishlist :)
Thank you for your answer.

iphone/ipad tour - do you usually check the box?

I'm thinking, why not make every tour iphone/ipad compatible in my workflow? Assuming, all my tours are uncropped 360x180 are there any disadvantages of checking the iphone/ipad comatibility box, besides a bigger tour size? What is your take on the matter? Do you usually check the box in your workfl...

PTP folder settings.

Hello. I keep all my PTP .kpt project files in a separate folder. It would be nice if PTP could remember that, so that when i click "open project" it would always open this folder. Instead, it opens the folder where I last built the tour into. Also, when linking images with hotspots , when I click "...

"exoprt pano to equi" feature

Just wanted to join Georg, Klaus and Destiny http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=98859#p98859
in their request for "exoprt pano to equi" feature in PTP
That would be a great help in the post-processing work-flow.

I did it, because simply not embedding XML didn't improve load times. I've read somewhere on this forum about cutting size and decided to experiment with it. There is a significant speed difference (at least from where I'm sitting) in pano load times both locally and online. I've put it online for y...

Thanks everyone for your tests!
I've solved the problem by increasing the cutting size from 120 to 478. Panos load in just a few seconds now! :) I had no idea that cutting size can influence load time.

Hey. Thanks for a quick reply. By load time I mean the time from the moment the little wheel in the middle appears to the moment it stops spinning.

Hey. So this time I didn't embed XML (PTP 1.8) and , sadly, my local and online load times are still very slow- 90sec. for the first pano and about 35 for the rest. My computer isn't the fastest but it's an i7 quad with 8GB RAM so that shouldn't be the problem. My download speed is about 22Mbps. Lik...

A word of warning for potential Kolor software buyers.

Hello. This is to warn anybody who wants to buy Kolor software and pay by wire. I purchased PTP license on April 25th directly from Kolor and when inquired about the ETA of my key Mr. Guillaume Tilloux from Kolor Customer Service responded that it may take up to 12 days. Furthermore, he explained th...

Embeding XML files - speed difference?

Hello. My 5-pano virtual tour is about 30 MB.(no sound but google map and pano thumbnails are enabled). Input panos are 3000x6000 pix (jpeg quality 8). PS method is NOT good for full 360x180 panos. Things that are sticking out into the sky(like a lighthouse or a skyscraper) get flattened. Polar Coordinates works great for cropped panoramas though(like 360x120). But, we don't do many of those around here do we ;) ? So, I guess your first suggestion ...

I Know that there's an option there for "little planet" (setreographic down) projection, however I usually postprocess the complete pano so the option in PTGui only gives me a raw l.p. Is there a way to export the "little planet" image from PTP? If not, how to do this? I want to extrct an image of just the little planet effect form one of my spherical panos.
