I went back to 2.6.1 since I found it frustrating that the control points editor seems to be missing the button to create control points by geometric analysis, or whatever it is. Or did I miss something?

Bracketed Layers no longer identical.

Hi guys, I have been using Autopano Pro since 2006. I am on a MacPro running the latest Lion OS. The new 2.6 APG has a big problem in that bracketed layers are no longer identical. I have tried every combo of render settings and it flat out refuses to create identical layers. Todays example was an i...

Hi Aeriscera,
I just merged a 1.03G Radience file in CS5 on my MacPro with no problem. Are you merging much larger files? Are you on a Mac?

Hi Klaus. The reason I do not like to do the merge to HDR first is that it does not always work for me. I think it may be due to floating point variations in the image groups. In other words, if there are major differences in the brightness you may wind up with a set of images to stitch that have ve...

You may be right on that. I just merged 3 layers in Photomatix each 16671x5543 with no problem. Merging in CS5 should not be an issue with much larger files. I like to use 32 float which as you may know is a plug-in for Photoshop for tone-mapping. I also use HDR Expose which also seems to handle lar...

OK, I understand the views in the posts above. If you want to produce a good HDR Pano I have found it is best to output the bracketed layers from Autopano Giga and then merge and tone-map them in another application. That works well. I think that Autopano may eventually be able to do all of this but...

Standard settings often give very good results and with a bit of editing excellent results. This is a tricky image with large blank areas and repeating patterns in the floor. Often in this type of image, standard settings seem to do the best job. The high settings in essence are overkill with this t...

I will suggest that doing the conversions to tiff is a good idea for another reason. You can remove chromatic aberrations in the conversion which will give you a better final render. Having said that, it is good that you guys have noticed the problem.

I would appreciate very much if Kolor would consider adding this feature, as I also see a variety of needs for equirectangular output. I used to use CubicConverter to do this but it has not been updated in a long time and lately has color profile problems that make it useless. Please consider this f...

HDR 360 of The Grand Canyon!

This image is from Toroweap Point, a rather remote spot on the North Rim and the only spot I know of where you can look directly down to the Colorado River. I did my best to make this HDR look as unHDR as possible! Be sure to look down.

I would try the default number of control points which I think is 50. If that result is not so good, try more. Good luck. I have a friend who refuses to use a pano head and when doing some stitching for him I had to do a few touch ups in Photoshop, especially on foreground details.

I found to problem. I downloaded v1.5.1 again. The .kpt project would still not open. I then realized that I had moved the .kpt into a folder on my desktop. Even though I navigated to that folder the file refused to open until I moved the file back to the desktop. So this little issue is common to v...

Thanks guys. I wanted to export the equirectangular so I'd have one that includes the retouching. I had to get rid of the tripod and some lens flares. I was thinking of entering the retouched version in Epson's pano contest and they want the EQ not cubes. Oh well it probably would not win anyway. It...

Equirectangular export?

I hope that in a future version of Panotour Pro we could have an option to export an equirectangular image. I see that we can export and then import cubes but I do not see an option to export the equirectangular after I retouch the cubes. I tried using Cubic Converter but ran into a number of issues...
