I see, you already have the commands for setting a speed and start/stop slewing figured out. I don't see why the shutter release command would be disabled during slewing, but of course it could be the case. It isn't something the mount was designed for. On the Meade mounts you can set an arbitrary speed (alt or az), then tell it to start panning at that speed.
