Re: Gigapixel pano: how to handle warping of image positions

Hi! I used a motorized head to shoot a 7x57 partial pano. I imported it with the Gigapano module with the appropriate shoot layout. The images were taken at precise angles, but APG seems to do some optimization and manages to fudge up the relative position and rotation of the images. The images sho...

Gigapixel pano: how to import shoot layout?

Hi! How would one specify the shooting layout when importing photos to APG? The only way I found was using the Gigapano import module. While it would seem to do the trick the shooting layouts on offer are very limited. I used a different layout for a few gigapixel panos and can't for the life of me ...

Allview external battery

Hi,
I'm making an external battery pack for the Allview mount.
I'm going to use 4x li-ion batteries, so expected voltage range is 16.8v to 14.8v.
Should I connect it to the battery or the other port?
Does it matter? Is there a difference in voltage regulation depending on the port?

Thanks!

The shutter release jack on the AllView. I can't get it to work with my wireless triggers. I got the right cable (PC->2.5 mm mono TRS connector) and it'll fire as soon as it's shorted. AllView goes to the motions of shooting, but doesn't release the trigger. It states that it's Canon compatible, so...

Where do you order the All View? I contacted the the distributor for this part of Europe, http://www.tavcso.hu and they pointed me to a their local distributor for my country. Both of them sell the AllView without the mounting brackets. I believe that the next L bracket is compatible: http://www.te...

Well, I went and ordered one. Got it today. I must say that I'm very dissapointed with Sky-Watcher. Apparently you don't get any kind of bracket nor camera cable in Europe and you still pay $100 more then in the US. I'm currently trying to see if it's possible to order the AllView bracket in Europe ...

Merlin vs AllView: Npp, speed?

Hi, After years of using a manual panohead, I'd like to switch to a robotized solution. The AllView seems perfect, but is 2.5X the price of Merlin in my country. Before I commit to buying I'd like to know a few more details for users of both. I'll be using Nikon D90 (and bigger Nikon/Canon bodies) a...
