what does rms mean?

i know that technically rms means "root mean square", but how is it used in autopano. what is the significance of the number? is a lower number better? if so, how does one achieve a lower number? thanks.

is there anyway to download the entire manual all at once, or do you have to print and review each topic individually?

nodal ninja has started shipping this week the new panohead. having said that, i believe the really right stuff is better engineered and is of definitely excellent quality. let me know if you would like to have a picture of my pano setup.

i use the really right stuff pano head with the rotator made from nodal ninja. works great. the indents are terrific? check it out. it costs about $200 USD, but it is really worth the time not to have to think about overlap.

i am using a really right stuff pano head, and i am using a 50mm f4 zeiss lens on a canon 5d mark II. the entrance pupil is correct. the number of images is about six in every row. if i uncheck "assume column...", it works fine.

help with column/row option

if i take a pano at -15 degrees, 0 degrees, +15 degrees, and i check the assume column/row shooting, my panoramas have a rms of greater than 5, and get the message "there is something wrong with this panorama". what am i doing incorrectly?

improving stitching quality

to improve stitching quality, is it just as simple as increasing the overlap between the different images (assuming correct entrance pupil calculation)? generally, i overlap every 15 degrees. would going to 10 degrees for consecutive images improve the stitch, or are there other techniques? thanks.

when i open the image in photoshop, the numerous layers are not visible. if i choose "view layers", it is still not visible. the image opens as a "group" and can be flattened, i just cannot seem to get the layers to open in photoshop. all the correct boxes are checked in autopano 2.5.
