small update. I rendered the 20 gigapixel image at 1 gigapixel to see if the corruption was still present, and it came out clean, so i rendered at 85% giving 15 gigapixels and that too came out clean so i will use that for now. However such a result does throw the source of error back into question

Ive run memcheck and removed one bad stick of ram, Ive also formatted my SSD scratch disk and run the render several times avoiding each possible disk and im still getting issues. Ive got a 4Gigapixel image which has stitched ok but the 20Gigapixel image is still comming out plastered in corruption,...

I did think it was probably a hardware fault but thought id check here first as there's alot of hardware to check. That particular render performed read and/or write on every disk. Ive started a new render missing out one of the disks and work from there to find the fault. Interesting that formattin...

mis-colored lines across stitched image

On a large panorama im trying to stitch, Im having a little problem with stability. As you can see in the attatched image, although the image initially appears to have stitched well, the final psb file, when opened to edit had a number of corrupted horizontal lines of pixels across it in various pla...

grouping scenes?

Has anyone found an elegant way to group scenes within a tour (as in e.g http://www.lboro.ac.uk/virtualtour/ )? What comes to mind initially is to create seperate tours with the groups of panoramas in, then use a dropdown box to navigate between tours (by editing xml etc). Has anyone found any other...

align video with panorama

a while ago (just after new year!) i put together this panorama: http://lifeinmegapixels.com/ptp/nye/nye.swf with video embeded in it. As you can see, besides the changing exposure/light etc, the alignment is far from perfect. Im sure ive seen a couple of examples with the video embeded virtually se...

underneath, PTP is just krpano, so once you get into editing the xml you'll want the refrence on that site ( http://krpano.com/docu/xml/ ), the bit you are after is probably http://krpano.com/docu/xml/#view.stereographic

Unfortunately kolor does not (as far as i am aware) provide and hosting solutions. You will need to upload your tour to your own web space if you already have a website. If not then a quick google search should help you find some free hosting packages to start you off. The size is up to you, and is ...

Ive no experience with the sigma, but use the Tokina on a 60D. I find the lens to be of solid build, and sharp with CA that is readily corrected in post. I like that it is a zoom which provides me with a range of shooting options depending on my desired output. at 10mm i can do 6,ZN for a 100MP equi...

try adjusting the focal length so it doesnt wrap around, then try a papywizard xml file to guide the images into the right order. I think there's also a 'images are in a single row' box somewhere

So do a test shot, process it and see if the final size and quality meets your needs, shouldnt take more than 20mins

Thanks for your answer I know you did not send it to me. The last link you sent looks ok however I want some better quality. http://www.howardedin.com/articles/fov.html says that that's 81 arcseconds/pixel (at 14mm), around the centre that would be ~16kpixels for 128 megapixel equirectangular. What size this comes out in PTP depends on the settings you choose, but i find this ball park to be a reasonable trade of between...

Are the images being detected as fisheye if appropriate? Ive seen similar behaviour before when fisheye images had lost their metadata in my pre processing.

NYE @ London

Took me a little while to sort this out, so sorry for the lateness. I was at the NYE celebrations in London and produced a panorama of the event with a video of the fireworks embeded in it. Blog post has ( http://lifeinmegapixels.com/blog/2012/01/london-nye-201112/ ) a flickr set in it too, or you c...

I too just had a search on the krpano forum and it popped up that the buffertime="" option should allow setting of the time to buffer before playing in xml but it doesn't seem to work, ill keep playing with the xml pending anyone else posting with success

Stream a video hotspot

After embeding a video hotspot in a scene, it seems the whole video must be loaded before play commences, can the video be made to stream rather than having the whole of it download?
