Hi sjhenry, Do you have any details on capture speed? I have done a few tests using gphoto with the 20D and it waits for each photo to be downloaded to the memory card before taking the next (i.e. does not take advantage of the buffer). I've had problems with this in the past using the Canon SDK dir...

Ah ok so the point of getting a good value for "inertia" is to minimise traversal time.

Thanks for explaining :D

I can't imagine this would affect the quality of the stitch? Does it? Yep, I plan to set up an automatic stitch mode on our render farm. We regularly capture many full sphere HDR maps and they can be stitched automatically using the coordinates from the preset (without feature matching). While not ...

What do you mean by 'miss the targer'? It does not stop at the correct position? What is the error? And what is the overshoot value? There is no error thrown but it looks to not visually lie on the correct position in the GUI. Is there a way to tell where it actually stops? Which version of Papywiz...

Missing the target

I noticed with certain presets papywizard seems to miss the target or overshoot in the GUI when moving between shooting positions. Some of my presets (e.g. those involving moving both axes at the same time) are worse than others. This is with and without the alternate drive. Does this mean it is not...

Ok here it is, http://happiestdays.com/downloads/Papywizard-r1836-OSX.zip Includes the latest changes and the LightAquaBlue framework. In particular could you test the bluetooth chooser, this does not work for me and has been flagged as a possible issue. If it doesn't work try finding your bluetooth...

Jeremy, do you get the same error when you try to connect through the bluetooth driver? I tried connecting and got no errors, eventually it timed out (which I assumed to be correct). I'll package up a new version with the changes and have a closer look. It is likely I missed some required modules f...

We have an untested version of Papywizard with bluetooth support on OSX. Why untested? Because I do not have a bluetooth head connection. If some OSX users with bluetooth connection could test for us that would help a lot. http://www.happiestdays.com/downloads/Papywizard-2.0.0-r1810-OSX.zip

Jeremy, can you make the binary package for MacOS, for the release 2.0.0? Do you need some help? If you want an icon, I can send it to you in svg, or a big png... Yes sorry I began on this last week but have been quite busy recently. I will need an icon of some sort, I'll find out what is best. Sta...

Now I am confused... How do you connect the Mac to the Merlin , tethered ? Cable/drivers/set-up/screenshots ? I use tethered setup USB->TTL cable as described earlier. You need to install a driver just like on windoze. The only difference is the device is a /dev like Linux. Once I installed the dri...

So several users have reported the software running under OS 10.5. However, has anyone been able to communicate with the hardware via the tethered connection? If so, what were you're "Hardware" settings in the "Configuration" window? Yes I set to "serial" and point to the installed device (FTDI TTL...

Good! Could someone running MacOS 10.4 can make a test, to see if it works? Unfortunately I don't think it will work on OSX versions earlier than 10.5. Some quick searching on the 'net indicates the application would need to be built on the lowest common system that you wish to support and also wit...

This worked for me, but all I did was look at the dataspec sheet listed above and try to mirror what you had done with the other cables. Is this close jeremyp? Sounds about right to me. I just followed this post, http://www.autopano.net/forum/p27797-2008-08-14-05-08-41#p27797 but omitted the V+ wir...

So the "FTDI TTL-232R-5V" seems to become a "proved" cheap solution for people who are happy with a "wired connection" between the Merlin/Orion/Sky-Watcher and a PC, Mac, etc... or as a "replacement" solution when not in the field ! Yes definitely I am also using one of these cables. Works great on...

Nice. Soon you'll be able to capture a spherical HDRI with Papywizard and use it to light a virtual scene in Cinema4D :)

Programmable exposure changing would be on the top of my list as well as far as camera control is concerned. Electronic control of the aperture (on a Canon DSLR for e.g.) is not sufficient for smooth change at 1/3 stop steps. Also the aperture never resets to the same position so you get variation ...

Well, linking an external lib will require a python wrapper for that lib. I think calling the exe is much more simple. I had a look at the doc, and I think it is OK to use it as an external tethered shooting program. Will you try it out in that mode? Does it support full control of the camera? This...

That could be quite interesting for "small" scenes. Purposely offset the nodal point to get some parallax in the move.

Regarding the fact that evey frame shot with a dslr has tons of redundant resolution compared to ehat´s need for a movie in nstandard resolution i would prefer to do it in a movie/video-editor afterwards using a "rostrum camera" - famous as "Ken Burns" effect. This only works for a certain FOV rig...
