From Scientific Computing - Monday, October 19, 2009 As manufacturers of consumer digital cameras compete in increments, adding one or two megapixels to their latest models, David Brady of Duke University is thinking much bigger. Working with the U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Advanced Researc...

And, here is a snapshot of the CP Editor using standard loading (NO Papywizard import filter), manually aligned.

Note that all the images are all linked and the terrific RMS, however time consuming:

Did you use Papywizard to control the mount? Yes If so, did you record a data file and use the Papywizard import filter when stitching? I did use the data file, all it did was eliminate the image pile up. The image alignment is approximate especially with images that contain a sky/water transition....

Inspiration Point Michigan

This pano was taken in Leelanau County, (north west lower) Michigan recently. The location is Inspiration Point on the south side of Glen Lake. What you see is some trees in the foreground along with Glen Lake. An isthmus of land (Glen Arbor) between Glen Lake and Lake Michigan. Past Glen Arbor on L...

claudevh, From what I have been able to glean from the Web regarding the Meade ETX 506 cable I found similar information as you. The 506 cable's RJ9 connector pinout is as follows: Engagement View (Latch up) Pin Color Circuit 1 Yellow +12VDC 2 Blue Clock 3 Red Data 4 Black Ground It looks like the d...

Hi claudevh, What's the difference between the pinouts? And, if I already have a Meade 506 cable and it is not being used for (it's intended purpose) the ETX, why is that reinventing the wheel? I would think an alternative to the Tronisoft solution would be a good thing. Besides, there isn't a suppl...

As I indicated before, a schematic for the Sky-Watcher Multi-Function Mount would be extremely helpful. I wrote an e-mail to Sky-Watcher and I haven't received a reply. Another alternative to interface the Sky-Watcher mount is the Meade 506 AstroFinder Cable Connector Kit. It provides a way of contr...

I found a perfect carrying case for the Orion TeleTrack 9441 or Sky-Watcher Multi-Function Mount. The case is manufactured by Vanguard and the model number is: VGP-13S. The best total price I found (case and shipping) was from Markertek: http://www.markertek.com/SearchProduct.asp?item=VGC%2D13&off=1...

Frédéric, The information in the Sky-Watcher Multi-Function Mount instruction manual is very sketchy. As an example the manual says that the AUX connector is “Not in use.” The Orion TeleTrack 9441 has a discrepancy in the instructions on page 4. which says: '6. The TeleTrack’s hand controller ...

Schematic For Orion/Sky-Watcher Mount

Has anyone been able to obtain a service manual or schematic for either the Merlin/Orion/Sky-Watcher multi-function mount? It would certainly make it easier to perform modifications to the device.
