Re: feedback after stitching first 50 takes

thanks for the info Antoine!

One more detail to add to the list, when you right click on a source movie you should be able to find it's path. When opening an old project you may want to find out where the source videos are.

feedback after stitching first 50 takes

I just finished stitching 50 3-5 minute takes and recorded a few thoughts along the way. I found the process very long mostly due to running the motion analysis. This feature should be batchable. Waiting 10 minutes in the middle of the project is not very efficient use of time. Is it possible to run...

Titan video card/ GPU optimizing

Anyone w/ a Titan want to chime in on the fps they get for rendering? I am using a Quadro 4000 and only rendering at 4.8fps at a resolution of 5550x2775, sharp, multiband. iso cutting. I would certainly be ok w/ waiting longer if it were doing more but it seems like reasonably simple parameters. I a...

KolorEyes RAM Player

I would really love to see a good RAM player for KolorEyes. Someone is sure to do this for the rift soon , would love to see it be Kolor! Most video apps have a RAM player for previewing cuts. All visual effect houses use RAM players so they can make sure they got the detail right before sending it ...

Lens Profile after stitching

I stitched a pretty elaborate pano and the vignette was pretty strong so I decided to try the adobe lens profile. I was able to find where you can import the profile before detecting but there didn't seem to be a way to add the profile after stitching. Do you have any advice for me? I spent a week o...

[SOLVED] beta 3 hanging on big images

Just went to add a control point to a pano w/ 800 images or so. Hangs and doesn't come back. No crash report, I just have to kill the project after waiting a few hours. This was happening w/ Beta 2 (on a 6000 image project) I had this happen a half dozen times. The full release has been able to hand...

vignette correction without profile

So I saw on the facebook list that there was a list of things that recent converts miss from PT GUI. One that I really miss is the automatic vignette correction that PT GUI and Huggin does. I know that the adobe lens profile has the advantage of also correcting chromatic but in a gigapixel image if ...

Is there a crash file autopano saves? I just had a 2 day process end in a crash and am wondering if I can recover any info.

Geometric Analysis taking longer than normal control points

I would like to understand the geometric analysis a bit better. My current understanding is that it is the same as the normal control point generation only that it is constrained to searching only in overlapping images for control points. Is this correct? I have been struggling w/ a monster pano (60...

Thanks Georg, I will see how that deals w/ 16-bit next. I tracked down the problem. When I started down this workflow I wanted to test gigatiler to make sure I could tile 16-bit. I created a test 16384x8192 16-bit psb and tiled it into 16-bit tiffs. Worked Great. However, I have now learned that any...

I just started getting some unusual behavior from gigatiler. I have used it successfully a number of times. Now when I run it to create 8192x8192 tiff tiles from a 122880 x 81920 16-bit psb it creates a psychedelic color pattern rather than my image. I am running it on win 7 x64. Any ideas? I know i...

autopano giga xml description

Hi Guys, Is there a description of the xml that autopano creates anywhere? I love that there is an xml format that I can tinker with. I am specifically interested in the <camera><f> value. I am assuming this is focal or angle of view but I don't understand the values that I am getting. I am thinking...

Marquee,

The epic pro will probably hold that. What is the weight? You can see that I am using Canon's 300mm 4.0 L lens in the video. I have used it w/ the 2x extender as well. You have to use to "motors ridgid" mode for heavier lenses so that tilt doesn't sink the motors are not in motion.

In the future BigTiff format will support larger files, http://www.awaresystems.be/imaging/tiff/bigtiff.html for now your best bet is the photoshop raw (not to be confused with camera raw).

Having an alpha channel for masking before stitching would be useful for dirty censors. The fullframe CMOS sensors attract allot of dust. I have noticed a huge increase in the number of times I have had to clean my sensor when using a 1DsII or my 5D compared to a 10D. I have often thought it would s...
