Re: Completely different: Panoramas from Computer Games

The most of them are between 100 and 300 megapixel, not every games has enough detail to make them bigger. Hi! Funny - what´s the reason that most of those sites look like designe...

Re: Completely different: Panoramas from Computer Games

Nice! I've made panoramas from games too: Skyrim, Star Trek Online, Star Wars: the Old Republic. I'm too screenshot-happy to not try, so now I'm looking for new games to play around with. With STO I encountered the same problem you did, the camera is always off to the side of the character, so ther...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

The final: The support could help me out. Cutting out the left third of the picture caused the distortion problem, so it is better to use .tif with transparency/alpha channel to remove unwanted objects (even if it is 25% of the picture) before putting them into Autopano Giga. Still my request with a...

Re: What nitification email adress does this forum use?

why not logging into your gmx account via webinterface and in sppamsettings adding 2 whitelist entries.... Georg That only works is gmx accepts the email for delivery. But in this case the email does not reach gmx, or more precisely: When the forum software sends off the email, the gmx server says ...

Re: What nitification email adress does this forum use?

To be direct: My first question was very clear, and I still don't know how you could interpret " what notification email address so I can white list it in the spam filter " as "Forum internal message notification", 'cause a forum will never spam-filter it's own notifications. Bu...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

It is amazing how well it works with these 3D views and stiching with APG ! I had to search very long to find a unique stiching error in this panorama. In Skyrim the 3D- and texture engine seems to be very stable. I know older games where the texture was re-placed with any small wobbles. With this ...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

41 Images with 1920x1200 for a pano with only 4350x1876 is much to much overlapping. A good value for overlaping between Images is 20-25%. So for this low Resolution, 4x2=8 Images should be enough. With 41 Images you hit the limit for overlapping ;) On the other hand all PC-games have an very compl...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

You're assuming that the graphics engine of the game works exactly like a real lens. But this is not so, as many optimizations will be done to improve the graphics output and speed. APG is programmed to operate with real scenes. That is only a guessing theory, quite wrong in some parts. But it has ...

What notification email address does this forum use?

I never get notifications of any reply although the option is set.
So I suspect some anti-spam filter kicks in on the way to me, though non of them say "it was me!".
What email address does this forum use as sender email address on notification so I can white-list it?

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

You didn't answer the question. You didn't ask ;), I could not guess that this was the detail you asked for. What focal length do you set? Usually I don't set it, it is detected correctly (with +- 2° fov difference max between the pics, but an RMS of 2.5). However I tried setting all source picture...

Re: Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

What camera body and lens did you use? What pano head? No head. Source is a computer game. So what do the Image properties look like? as in my screenshot. Yes, with one difference in this case (this game): 130 to 230 pics, each about 3700x3600. Most of the time it works as expected, I've created ov...

Update of another example where is does not work as expected...
In the upper one has some unlinked pictures, so I add some control points. Then "optimize" with the default "gigapixel" setting.

Weird FOV/Focal/Roll after optimization, limit possible?

I have a problem with the control points optimization. If there a way to limit the FOV or focal and the Roll values Autopano tries to use during correction? Because sometimes I get ultra-weird results. Pic FOV-Focal-Pitch-fix-fov-try: Another optimization, variant one when it goes totally out of wha...

AP 2.6 Panorama vertically stretched / horizontally squisched

In AP 2.6 Autopano tends to have panoramas squished/stretched, as seen in the shot. In this case the spherical projection is the "least distorted" one. I an different Panorama I simply used an editor on the finished panorama to correct this, but how can this be corrected from inside? Note that those...

The "Force minimal cache division"? I did not try it since the text says "can use more pictures" but it also says: "Limit to 262144 pixels 8 Bit" which is a rather small size. But maybe it is just difficult to explain in the help text, since "2097152 Pixels 8 Bit" is smaller than the last largest re...

Autopano giga x64 (2.5 up to 2.6.0 Rc1) is only using 3.71 (3803 MB)

Well I am using x64, I have 7 GB of free physical RAM (without counting swap) before starting Autopano Giga x64. In Autopano itself I can "only" adjust it to use 3.71 (3803 MB) RAM although more is available. This leads to "too many pics for antighost" messages. This also means: I cannot create pano...
