Yellowstone

Here are a few pix from Yellowstone taken a few weeks ago when I was out in Bozeman MT for my daughter's graduation from Montana State University: Palette Spring #3, Yellowstone (18-image pano): http://www.haywood-sullivan.com/download/Yellowstone-%5BGroup-11%5D-_SA20140_DxO__SA20157_DxO-18-images.H...

The image on the far left looks like it has a different exposure (and thus a different gamma) than the other images. Are you 100% sure that the image brackets were taken in manual mode with no "auto ISO" setting? (recall that auto ISO will change the "exposure")

WOW! 2.5 renders significantly faster on my Windows XP laptop! I can't wait for the final version to come out. Great job improving performance guys! This is going to be a big upgrade! (unfortunately, I still cannot get horizontal lines to align with my recent images -- I wonder if the fact that I pr...

@mediavets: as described in the previous post, I'm talking about the "Verticals Tool" with the horizontal radio button selected. The effect I am trying to achieve is to change the horizontal perspective of the image (no different than changing the vertical perspective of an image). @GURL et mediavet...

Merci Georges, GPU is not enabled. Yes it is a Windows XP laptop with 2gb RAM. No other apps running. The APP tool that I have not been able to use anymore is the "Verticals Tool" -- particularly in horizontal mode. Rebooting Windows does not help. So, should I reinstall APP? or some Windows compone...

Sudden behavior: use of horizontal perspective control corrupts panos

So I have been using the latest version of APP 2.0.9 for several weeks now (perhaps months?) and I have a new behavior which I cannot explain. The short story: if I attempt to use the horizontal perspective control mechanism with even a small panorama it corrupts the file upon save. The behavior of ...

v2.08 is the best, most stable version yet

Just wanted to post that my experience with v2.08 is that it is the best, most stable version to date.
My compliments to the engineering team -- I have had a great experience with this version even on my lowly 2gb laptop.

Thanx again for a great job.

In my case wide = 18mm and 24mm using an 18-135mm zoom on a D200 (35mm equivalent of 27mm)

In my case long = 80mm, 135mm, 180mm, and 200mm (mostly zooms) on a D200 (again need to multiply by 1.5x to obtain equivalent 35mm)

North Community Church, Marshfield Hills Massachusetts

This is our church -- a proud member of United Church of Christ. Thought I'd try out a new (used) lens I just purchased used on eBay for $80 -- an 18-135mm Nikkor. This image is comprised of 10 images in two rows. You will notice that it covers slightly more than 90 degrees in horizontal field of vi...

My (anecdotal) observations regarding "Adjust lens distortion" checkbox together with DxO Optics Pro RAW conversion prior to APP: - long lenses w/ matching DxO profile (doesn't seem to matter what setting you use) - long lenses w/o matching DxO profile (doesn't seem to matter what setting you use) -...

Does this mean that if I use a program such as DxO Optics Pro (which corrects for lens distortion) that I should always turn "Adjust lens distortion" off?

It may make some sort of sense but I cannot quite envisage a UI that could allow manual placement on such a grid for a matrix/mosiac comprising very many images (says hundreds). How many images do you typically have in one of your matrices/mosaics? Well, for starters, one could easily imagine an in...

DxO does a very good job converting RAW --> TIF and RAW --> JPEG (I'm not a fan of RAW --> DNG but it does that too). Especially true if your particular lens/body combination is supported. I always use DxO in batch mode first on all my images then archive the RAW files on offline storage. While I pr...

I just purchased APP last night. Prior to this, I was only doing test stitches with APP. Hence the somewhat exaggerated term "legal".n As for the "bokeh" -- it is my desire for this night series to have only one object in focus. As such, only the face of the building is in focus with everything else...

What do you hope such a feature would offer that APP/APG doesn't currently manage to do for you? very simple: the freedom to use a panohead with clickstops and choose an arbitrary order of shooting. FYI, I own a gigapan and its inability to let me shoot "in any order" is what kills the whole motori...

How is the order determined? By timestamp? or by filename? What if I remove all the EXIF data -- what will it do then?

My first "legal" Autopano Pro stitch

I have made a project for myself this summer -- capturing the "nooks and crannies" of my neighborhood at night. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3349/3635649599_d1939a1ce9_o.jpg This image is of our GAR Hall -- which hosts the North River Arts Society of which I am a member. "drag and drop" grid so that one can manually add row/column images

there should be a configurable "grid" interface that allows one to manually drop images into a row/column pattern. this is useful for those of us who use non-motorized 360 deg panoheads. The issue being that it is not always convenient to shoot in a particular order or even with a fixed/consistent e...

Trouble with "row/column" shooting

Last night I shot a matrix of 3 rows by 6 columns for a total of 18 images. The order of shooting was the following (i.e. I started from the lower right): [pre] 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 [/pre] Telling APP2 to recognize the set as "row/column" doesn't work -- is the...

Well, I'm not going to worry about it for now -- as long as I don't try to import JPG, everything seems to work just fine -- in fact better than importing the RAW files directly. So DxO and Autopano Pro turn out to be a good combination after all. Michael P.S. this looks like I will be purchasing AP...
