I'm curious what happens if you just stitch a single row (the middle one). Are the misalignments in the same place? I see quite a number of misalignment points in various positions that it looks like they are not even at where the various shows span.

Klaus, why do you want to keep this totally separate? Just because? There's no technical reason why this functionality can't be included... after all, Autopano used to have the exact functionality i'm requesting. You're analogy is week... In fact, i can use it... I use a camera to take photos of st...

So even if separately licensed, they need to at least know enough about each other to cascade the processing between them for those that have both. At a previous job I worked, we had an application that had a few product components. But it presented as one single application that supported and worke...

If what you have done so far only needs left-right panning (is not higher than maybe 80% of the web page height), it would probably fit into my existing Javascript. I'd have to tweak the JS code since I never implemented the future ideas of having it get all that info from the DOM in the web browser...

It shouldn't be that hard to add multi-machine network rendering management. But I would suggest that it not depend on keeping the desktop running. So one should be able to shut down the desktop, then next day start it up, connect to the render manager, and see what's been done so far.

I would agree, a tool to drag in alignment would be great. Horizontal would be one case. Vertical could be useful. And dragging in perfect alignment with other angles, or vectors related to the image geometry (e.g. the exact diagonal to a corner) would be good. Adding to that the ability to do it in...

I believe APP is for making images alone, not for tours with their own view mechanism. I see no point in using Flash just for a simple flat image. I have seen pano tours done in Flash that do a lot more than just sweeping around an image. If you want to do those "more" things, I assume you need to g...

Linux user here. No Photoshop because it requires Windows emulation. Windows emulation actually lets a number of Windows virii run. So I just view my panos in Firefox, which can pan around on its own. I don't use Flash for security reasons (my home computer is also used for some security development...

My company CEO has had troubles with getting credit card payments to Gandi for domains (Gandi is in France). It seems credit card payments to France are triggering a lot of bank rejections in the USA. But the bank itself claims not to know about it. Perhaps they just don't know how to look at their ...

I work in the computer field and Linux is my area of expertise. I find it the easiest way to do things. I use the Linux version of AutoPano Pro, for example. I find Windows the most difficult to work with. I guess this difference is about expectations and control. But I also don't like being tethere...

All my computers use Linux. I'm not yet ready to dedicate a whole computer to nothing but photography where it would need to run Windows, or to buy a Mac for that. So I guess I'll stick with manual. I wanted to do it that way, anyway. If it were still a produced product, I'd probably be buying the N...

How does this work? Does the electronic head connect to the camera to tag the image EXIF with orientation data? I'm not expecting to do a lot of very large panos. It's more about boosting the pixels for what would otherwise be wide angle shots. These might be 8 columns and 3 rows, for example. So technically sub-gigapixel. But one of the things I do expect to do would be easier with the camera in landscape or...

replacement for Nodal Ninja 5 ?

Do to being extra busy on new job, many things were on hold, including photography. Now that has eased up and new purchases are happening. I now have a Canon 7D, and a 60/2.8 macro lens. I may get a 100/2.8L macro next. I was going to buy the Nodal Ninja 5, but I see that has been discontinued. I di...

I already tried that contact page weeks ago. It always rejects my messages for some reason.

BTW, if cameras were made with square sensors (50% more pixels), it would be possible to electronically switch between portrait or landscape. Then we'd only need to rotate the rectangular lens shades.

Right. I'd only need 0 and 90 degrees. But I don't want to have to detach anything to do that.

Any chance the following device would fit onto the NN5 and allow rotation of the camera from most angles the NN5 would orient it?

Or does everyone do the multi-row and sphericals in portrait mode? Most two-axis pano heads are designed for portait orinetation of camera. Why would you wish to shoot multi-row or spherical with the camera in landscape orientation? Why not? :) Actually, portrait mode can be awkward at times. And I...

It seems the perspective in the IT world (I work in the IT world) is that if you can read all of the SSD data in just a second or two, it was too small :) Really, they see the SSD market as a demand for fast DATA in large quantity, such as searching data warehouses. As a Linux distro builder, I'd lo...

Looking for pictures of Nodal Ninja in action

I'd like to see some pictures of the Nodal Ninja in action. I'm not asking for results of using it (there are plenty of great panos around to see). Instead, I'd like to see pictures (from a 2nd camera) of the Nodal Ninja actually mounted on a tripod, with an actual camera mounted on it, showing its ...
