Re: Chrashing, chrashing crashing

installed apg 2.0.9 apg 3.0.8 apg 3.5 beta 3 in parallel on a win8.1 64bit PC with fairly old nvidia GTx 260 without single Crash until now. I even ignored all error Messages during 3.5b3 Installation process I do get since beta1... so cant imagine what is different on your side to cause this? GPU ...

Re: Nodal Point calibration with high focal length

Hi Leonardo This two other values are for macro fokus at 1:2 and 1:1 scale. But with this, you normaly will not shoot a pano ;) Try to get the NP at 40m focus distance and 3/4 of the image width (25% overlapping). I guess it will be ok also for the whole range from 30-60m then. At 40m focus distance...

Re: Nodal Point calibration with high focal length

And place this two targets at an angle near the stitching zone (dependent from the overlapping).
Then you get a perfect result.

Re: Nodal Point calibration with high focal length

Hi Leonardo
See also this site:
http://wiki.panotools.org/Entrance_Pupil_Database

I use this lens also for a lot of my panoramas. If the motiv is far away, the NP isn't important.
I don't know if in your case, the ceiling is far away enough and in the same distance.

Re: Masking tool usage

Have you tried the "old methode" with editing the nadir image with transparency on alpha layer?
I don't know whether this method is still supported from APG.

Re: Masking tool usage

Hi
If I understand the tool correct, it will be enough if you mark the upper images with green marks. This will mean that this areas should be used for the panorama.
But be carefully to not set two green marks at the same place in two different images. This can confuse the process.

Re: Help for a beginner

what does a floating nodal point mean? Hi Felix You can find informations about floating nodal point on this page: http://www.pierretoscani.com/echo_fisheyes_english.html Klick the animated graphic of the 10.5mm Fisheye Nikkor. You can see that the position of the nodal point isn't only dependent f...

Re: Nodal Point calibration with high focal length

Hi Leonardo The NP of the Micro Nikkor 200mm is somewhere between 95 - 96 mm from the mount, at infinity. With the D800, you need about 65mm more for the camera. You need 160 - 170 mm space from the head base. I can't believe it that you can't get it in the right position with this giant head. Do yo...

Re: Unable to find a thread...

Hi Niall In this forums there are really a lot of threads about the masking tool and how to patch the Nadir hole. And since we have a new graphical interface for some months in the forums some of the images in older posts will no longer be visible. Did you mean this one: http://www.kolor.com/forum/v...

Re: Banding

Hi Robert
Just an idea, perhaps different Firmware than Klaus in the camera or the Controller ?
Did you use third-party accus in the D800e ? Or use it with the MB-D12 ?

Re: Banding

Have you checked the cable and connectors?
Maybe a shorter cable can help also.
The sync protocol of D800 and D800e are the same.

Re: Banding

Hi Robert Nice that it work's as suggested ;) As I wrote, there is allways vignetting on a f1.4 lens, even at f8 or f11. You couldn't see it in a single Image, but with a pano and blue sky, it's really visible. Try to use the Standard Setting -2 for blending, should work also. You can change a color...

Re: Banding

... , yes there still appears to be some vignetting but quite minor, certainly better than without the correction. Hi Klaus Robert wrote in the fifth post, that he HAS vignetting. More without LR modification than with. This is why I have suggested, the banding is caused by vignetting. I never saw ...

Re: Banding

Re: Banding

IF a lens produces vignetting at all - it´s on the far ends of the frame. That means: IF the long side of the frame shows vignetting, then the short side must be showing much heavier vignetting ;-) When the camera is mounted in portrait-mode the vignetting must be visible not as vertical stripes bu...

Re: Banding

Banding because of vignetting depends from overlapping. Seems that in this case overlapping horizontally is better than vertically to avoid vigneting issues. I found always vignetting issues with APG even using a 600mm tele at f8, when overlapping is really small (less than 20%). If overlapping is m...

Re: Banding

Hi Robert You can create a new Profile for your MF Lens with Adobes Lens Profile Creator, if you couldn't find the correct Profile. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5490 It's clear that vignetting isn't the same as with the AF-Versions because the aperture is modified (9 round...

Re: Banding

Hi Robert You can check if there is still some vignetting visible in the Images from LR. But two Images of the upper row side by side in an Image Editor and move them one above the other. Then you can see some differences from vignetting very easily. The MF 85 mm should not be a Problem, but I sugge...

Re: Banding

Hi
This is caused by vignetting by the lens. APG don't corrects vignetting, you must remove it in an external program.
