Georgio, I use BOTH Panogear and GigaPan robotic camera mounts. Whenever I use the Panogear mount, I use the Papywizard import plugin. The Panogear mount, when using the Touch Control, and grid pattern, takes images from left to right, THEN right to left, alternating direction until the panorama is ...

Recent panos stitched with APGiga

Hi All, After moving back to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from Honolulu, I thought I'd share a few panos I have taken since my return. They range from self-portrait to experimental/fun. Self portrait in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (the reason I moved home) - no prev...

Hans,

Thanks - no doubt you meant no disrespect.

For the stitching - people move, breezes "breeze" - I take it all as part of the image.
Sometimes, for me, anyway, it MAKES the image.

Aloha,
Richard

Richard, We are fortunate to have your insight into the significance of this tree to you. The scene must mean a lot to you. Did you setup the gigpan on bench? It looks like that from the image? Hello again, I'm finally settled in after moving from Honolulu back to my hometown in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. :^\ Just playing around, I determined that the Panogear mount supports a Canon G10 P&S. No, that does not sound cool - it sounds like SPAM I would rue the day that type of invasion would come. Spam is mass emailing without consent. That behaviour is not what this post is about. Patent, copyright, and trademark laws here in the U.S. are much to "loose". Some jerk actually got the copyright to "Happy Birthday" because it had never been in copyright, even though it has been in the Public domain for decades. Hello Georg & Klaus, What I ask is, can you move the Panogear Mount in reverse, say, halfway into a pano, in order to correct a previous shot? All I really wanted was an avocado and cheese sandwich

Hello all, This is a 40 frame FUN "macropano" I made while having to stay at home due to unexpected medication reactions for my epilepsy. It's multi focal plane, stopping at each frame to take the images, fusing in Helicon Focus, then stitching the fused images. See http://gigapan.org/gigapans/74843...

Backwards movement of Panogear for grid panos

Help, please,

How does one move the Panogear head backwards when taking a Grid panorama using the Hand Controller? I can't find any instruction in the Panogear Manual. I've tried all kinds of combinations of button pushing, but have found no recourse to this problem.

Thanks,
Richard

Center for Korean studies, University of Hawaii

Greetings all, Here's a pano I took with a GigaPan Epic100 (1st rendition) and my old Canon S5IS P&S. Conditions were variable, from bright sun, quickly moving clouds, and blowing mist. Many photographers may take panoramas for FUN, a concept that seems to be lost to many members of this forum. Hi Richard! Of course! But that wasn´t the question. The question was how to determine the meaning of "Gigapixel". That´s a "neutral" and technical item - independent from what is in the ...

This conversation sounds much like this thread: http://www.autopano.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9445 The " 'neutral' estimated optical pixels" certainly does not include pixel quality - that seems to be a subjective interpretation. Not every person making large scale panoramas can afford expensive ca...

Richard, before starting with the pano you've source images with x megapixel, each image should have the same dimensions so exact the same pixel in total. this number is finally for the resulting pano not meaningful. clear... and before doing your pano your formula calculates you an estimated numbe...

Total estimated pixels, 12,000 frames x 18,000,000 pixels = 216 Gpixels - only if there is NO overlap. Total Pixels as per pano data = 272 Gpixels - How does this occur? Estimated optical pixels noted in pano data (surely taking an "average" overlap into account) = 112 Gpixels Richard's calculated e...
