Ha, great pano with an equally interesting backstory! It seems it was taken from somewhere high in the fortress. Here's the old capital hill shot from the air (and stitched with APP): http://azholding.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Veliko-Tarnovo-01.jpg This must be the first pano posted here fro...

I'd think it cannot. Seems like the usual case of "why does thing THING work in SoftwareA, but not in SoftwareB - and I'm trying the same THING, I'm telling you... ok, maybe a little different... alright, I'm doing a completely different THING, but still WHY OH WHY???" :D

Still, horizon is often a problem* and I'd love to get the bezier-curve horizon ajustment tool we've been talking about since forever. I doubt it's as easy to code as suggested in this and other threads, but I retain hope that some day we'll get a similar, useful horizon tool. Right now, even after ...

A friend in the States not long ago got this one for field work (on sale in a local shop, $100 cheaper): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230406 - he's happy with that config and it certainly is good value.

Just wanted to add a bit of advice to the topic, being a handheld panographer myself... Most of my horizon problems are solved by re-creating the control points. Select each link, delete all CPs, create new CPs selecting segments of the photos near the horizon. Yes, that results in some problems in ...

I cannot understand why people continue to insist on feeding RAW files to Autopano (except for quick-and-dirty test renders)! The best results (in terms of image quality) are achieved by first de-rawing the images in a dedicated software, like ACR, then using TIFF/PSD files. Could someone try and ex...

Don't know about the sky, but the ground is disturbingly overshapened and overhdred... Also, I think this is the first time I've seen someone on those forums shoot thousands of images by hand (ie without some robo-help)! Amazing patience!

Basically you should stick to the generally accepted process of de-rawing the RAWs in a dedicated application, IMNSHO :)

I second the small window - a full screen window is a must (or at least a resizeable one!). A histogram too, and maybe a point eyedropper, to measure the levels at certain spots.

And Lightroom integration too!

I agree with that analysis and am too wondering what kind of shooting rig Brian has in mind, as well as the practical application of a 300GP image??? Brian - you say "hundreds-of-gigapixels", so I think it's safe to assume that you're talking about a minimum of 200GP, yes? And I'm also assuming we'r...

Alexandre, if GPU will still be editor-only, why the need for faster GPU? Maybe that concerns only large multi-gigapixel projects?

Brian, it depends on what projects you're planing to work, but in my experience even an old 9800GT is perfectly enough for the pano editor needs!

Currently, I would advise against investing in expensive GPU, at least until Autopano starts utilizing it for the final (actual) rendering.

I have similar scenarios quite frequently. What I do is use Antighost (I always do), render to layers PSD and just delete a piece of the layer that covers the object I want to see (in your case - the boat).

It probably will and it has been requested by users many times! But in the end it's for the developers to decide. (And it also is a foot in the door - now you want read access for some users, after that for all users, then write access for some... ;) )
