Re: To download (MacOS SnowLeopard compatible) latest APG

Yes, the download page http://download.kolor.com/apg/stable/history looks strange here too. Nevertheless, recent versions of APG installer can effectively be downloaded from that same page, therefore the server is apparently working. Unfortunately these recent APG versions are not supported by the o...

To download (MacOS SnowLeopard compatible) latest APG

AFAIK APG 3.0.8 is the latest APG version compatible with Mac OS 10.6.8 (a.k.a. Snow Leopard).
Unlike any newer APG version, 3.0.8. seems to be inaccessible at the Kolor server (nothing happens when clicking on the download link).

Re: Stitching a fixed at 7.5º tilt with Fisheye

Each Nodal Ninja R10 head has a set of 3 built-in static tilt options i.e. "0 degree" and "+/- 7.5 degrees" (in your case). After removing the top Quick Release Arca-Swiss plate (2 screws), the vertical arm of the NN R10 can be reversed upside down (2 x2 screws). Mount the QR pla...

Re: Seemingly Impossible panorama?

Ed, thank you for sharing the complete set of photos. Capture d’écran 2014-05-19 à 09.20.02.jpg As you can see, eight of them (6 around + zenith + hand-held view of nadir) indeed suffice for covering the whole 360 X 180° pano. Yet your right shoe is unfortunately still spoiling the nadir =( Capture ...

Re: APG 3.5.1 W7 x64 - rectilinear lens mistaken for fisheye

The initial question of lens detection is important and rely on a strong system build into autopano. (….) Then how can we decide if a lens is fisheye or not ? - If we have the makernotes, we have the lens ID. With that we are sure that this lens is either fisheye or standard whatever the focal leng...

A technique for stitching hand held panoramas

John Houghton has presented a clever yet simple way to stitch hand-held images when the pavement or tiling is generally hard to join properly… He has experimented with PTGui and placed most Cps manually. The key point is the ability to use some images twice in a single project (PTGui permits): for s...

APG 3.5b3 and pano w/images of various fisheye focal lengths

Input: 4 fisheye portrait images each shot at 90° horizontal interval from the next. The focal was respectively set at 8, 11, 13 and 15 mm on a Canon 8-15 mm zoom lens fitted on a FF EOS camera. Re: Autopano won't stitch 360° panorama

He says it was a Sigma 15mm fisheye, on a Canon 650D with 1.6x cop factor that's equiv. to 24mm on a fullframe sensor. There are any number of peculiarities about this image set. 1. Why would one choose a 15mm fisheye on a cropped sensor body? Yes, it won't be acting like a fisheye lens on that sen...

Bmachine, You are describing the shooting of a partial Object VR Movie, yet you would like to render it on a flattened "unwrapped" view (like if you wanted to print it ?). Object movies are quite easy to do: the output file is based on the series of images. Unlike a standard Video movie, an ObjectVR...

BTW: on the opposite side of the fisheye projection range, the Orthographic projection may induce the software to underestimate the focal length but that's another more complicated story. Hi Georg, I have used APG 3.0.4 and I inputted 4 mm for the lens focal length (just to start with a short value). BTW: APG apparently used the EXIF to detect Nikon CP 990 as the camera and thus updated the focal to 19.6 mm (i.e. sensor scaling = 4.9). APG finally yielded 7.34 mm after optimization. ...
