Re: Papywizard mac osx 10.9 mavericks

Maybe if I were running Windows under Bootcamp or other similar. I don't really want to do that because of limited disk space. It may be worth trying to run using CrossOver (Wine) emulation.

Re: Papywizard mac osx 10.9 mavericks

I can share that it does NOT work for me on Mavericks (MackBook Air 11.6", OS X 10.9.1). I am considering trying to build it from source code. I still have a Nokia N800 and Asus eee that I run it on, but they are both getting old and decrepit, with poor battery life. Is there anyone out there ...

Papywizard source code? (papywizard.org down)

I was thinking to trying to build Papywizard from source on OS X Mavericks (10.9), since the packaged version doesn't work, but I can't find the source code (papywizard.org is 404). Has it been archived anywhere? I know the original author has left the project, but is anyone at all keeping it alive?

Links to different Bluetooth modules

I know I have seen a list of links to the various commercial Bluetooth modules available for the Merlin, but I can not find it now  The only one I seem to find now is the Ursa Minor module, which seems very expensive. I would like to compare to the others before buying one (I have about gi...

For what it is worth, today I tried connecting to the Merlin with two different Macs, an Ubuntu laptop, and a Nokia 800. I got the exact same result with all of them: Green checks for "Connect", red X for init. I have to wonder if I reconnected wires in the wrong way, but I am having difficulty find...

Sorry but you seem to make a conclusion which is unjustified. Requirements are about the minimal you should have to make the system/software working in a decent way. That has not changed from APG2 to APG3 which is a good thing but also expected. APG3 has new functionality in the editor which will w...

I am at the IVRPA conference in NYC and asked that very question to Alexandre yesterday. He said that the GPU requirements were no greater in APG3. It sounds like it will actually work better with lower-end GPUs.

Bluetooth fails to Init

I had developed intermittent power connection problems in my Bluetooth dongle. It is one I made based on a Parallax EmbeddedBlue 500 Transceiver. I traced it back to bad connections in my original soldering. I went back and redid all of the work with a better soldering iron and seem to have resolved...

Motorized head on Kickstarter

Have any of you seen the Galileo motorized head for iPhone on Kickstarter? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/449163977/galileo-your-ios-in-motion?ref=category Looking at that video, I imagine how nice it would be to have Papywizard on iOS. Has anyone ever successfully jailbroken an iOS device, ins...

I am using the plain old Skywatcher/Merlin head with Papywizard and Bluetooth. I had wondered if the TC Controller was faster somehow, but I don't know why it should be able to do something Papywizard can't (The tread you reference doesn't explain why it is so much faster at small angles, as in the ...

How to go faster?

Ever since I saw the demo of Kolor's Panogear version of the Merlin, all I can think about is: How did they get it to move so fast? It looks 10 times as fast as mine for that kind of angular movement! See the movie at: http://www.kolor.com/panogear-motorized-panoramic-head.html I REALLY would like t...

A followup: In the end, after advice Papywizard crowd, I ran a simulation in Papywizard with the same number of rows and columns and it looks pretty good. I haven't optimized yet and it looks like the attached image. I am just glad to avoid editing every one of the 344 pitch values in the XML! :P Th...

It was the standard Skywatcher Multi-Function Mount (same as Merlin), controlled by a MacBook Pro using Papywizard. I had hoped there was some way to import the previously run file as a preset and then shift the home; or, maybe someone knew an easy way to automate editing the XML. It sounds like you...

Help save my photo shoot?

I shot a large pano (344 images). Things look very strange on import into Autopano. After consultation on the other forum with Alexandre Jenny, he showed me that it appears that I failed to set the "HOME" location in Papywizard. Because of the position of the head when turned on, the pitch of all of...

I checked this case. The issue is in the XML file because all pitch angle are in the range [-67 -90] meaning you shot the nadir only ( with heavy distortion, etc ). This doesn't correspond at all with the content of this panorama which looks like standard landscape photography where you can see the...

FTP is working now and the zip file (containing the papywizard XML and log files, a project file, and reduced-size and highly compressed images) is uploading. If reducing the dimensions of the photos is a problem, I can upload them again - just let me know.

I hope this gets it figured out :D

I don't think the ftp site is working correctly. I have tried three different ftp clients plus the Mac Finder to connect with no success. It either never responds or wants a name and password, which shouldn't be needed. I have used ftp plenty of times, so I don't think I am doing it wrong.
