Re: Struggling to eliminate Flash....

Multi-res is not supported with the HTML5 Panorama Viewer for partial panos. Aaaaassargh! Thanks mediavets.... Did not know this. Super bad. Sigh. Will this ever get addressed do you know? Running a variety of W8.1 and W10 x64 PCs with firefox 38 & 40 and Chrome. Main test box is a beefy waterc...

Struggling to eliminate Flash....

Hi People, I am struggling to get non-flash tours working. If I build the tour as HTML5 only, I cannot zoom the panoramas at all.(Mouse, keyboard, on-screen buttons all fail to work). If I include Flash, then everything works fine. Indeed, with HTML5 only, while Chrome gives me the non-zoomable pano...

I'm not sure how much a "better" GPU helps the AGP3.0.0 preview. I have a GTX570 and previews are OK but not that fast. GPU utilisation is never above 5% and my GPU monitor shows not a lot of the processing engines are being utilised. I've 1GB of VRAM which is fairly typical. I wonder whether the sy...

[APG 3.0.0 A1] Minor issues and suggestions

First up - LOVELY job Alexandre and team. The new UI is well thought through and performance generally excellent. No crashes so far on some quite complex HDR material. New projections and their respective parameter controls a significant new value. The biggest new feature is of course the integrated...

Bonjour Alexandre,

I have scoured the NYC2012 site for any press releases post your presentation but can find nothing other than the preannouncement and a short html5 demonstration. Will you be posting any excerpts or specifications elsewhere, or do we remain in the dark??

cheers

Thanks as always Alexendre,

I will "wait with bated breath" for the NYC2012 announcement. I have my wallet ready. The product is superb; but I, like many, hope for so much more!

Bon chance!

Where can I see the current development roadmap Alexandre?

I've done a search but found no "current" roadmap to fill in the details of what is being worked on for V3 now that 2.5 is in "rolling up the bugs" mode. (BTW it works flawlessly for me - touch wood). I confess I am looking to see if / when CPU/GPU rendering may make it on the map - if this is techn...

AH! So it was the hidden "bug reproduction" feature at work? LoL

Thanks Alexandre; super product. Do we get to pay you some upgrade money for all this effort once the 2.5 goes into full release? Happy to do so!

cheers

Damn! it seems the cause is selecting "embed all outputs" in the render options panel. Deselect this and the EXIF data passes through (and you get black in non rendered areas) , select it and you lose the EXIF (and you get transparency with the attached alpha channel). Wish I'd know this a week ago,...

As always MOST grateful for your responsiveness Alexandre! Some tiny test files at https://files.me.com/rod.laird/63mr2w. 2x16 bit TIFF's - with full EXIF, output is PSD with basically a null EXIF. Using APG 2.5.0RC. Can't see any preference screens that would be worth sending you as nothing in them...

Metadata gone walkabout... 2.5.0 RC

Happy New Year to Alexandre and the rest of the Kolor team. Wonderful stuff you've been doing (now all I'm waiting for is the CUDA render.. LoL) To the issue - metadata sometime and sometimes not transferring to my output panos. It may be finger trouble on my part with some setting I am oblivious to...

Bravo + tricky pano advice request [2.5.0b]

Alexandre et Collègues- Bravo! This new GUI is great and the performance in every way is looking terrific. A big boost over the Alpha which failed miserably with a lot of my material. The 2.5 engine makes possible some things that I previously could not manage. In particular, using manual positionin...

Hmmm - Renan - this could be done just by allowing us to specify an xml file for inclusion as part of the project settings. At the moment I have to manually edit the XML file set to include my GoogeMap radar template (which works beautifully OP - you just need to pay Klaus at krpano for the excellen...

The smartblend issue is a tricky one. We know why but it's really hard to fix. Let's explain it in detail. To be able to work on big images we use memory mapped files. It's a good technic that allows to work on terabytes with low memory. The issue we have is that along the process, the memory got f...

Come on guys - fix the memory management problem!

While I can get away with rendering / smartblending 8bit panos, my 16bit ones always "splat". I use an SSD as the temp file area and there is tons of room on it. (At the moment the temp files only get up to about 10GB which is not a lot). I've both followed all the gorum suggestions on eliminating "...

Take a look at http://www.fusionio.com/ioxtreme/

Should be good...

In the meantime I'm using a 64GB SSD and smartblend is much better- probably now constrained by being just a single core process...

']20GB would not be enough for large Smartblend projects and for smaller ones - a simple Raptor will do the job. The way Smartblend works is that it creates a temp "tiff" file for each image used in the panorama and then blends each of them into the final pano, sequentially. At least that's my unde...

For those interested, I did a save with external XML's. The "broken" links were indeed wrong in the XML and there was a clear disparity between what APT had recorded for the link and what it saved to the XML. Why? Dunno but clearly a bug...

Also have a weird problem where a pano zooms right out and then gets stuck at maximum FoV http://www.suandrod.com/Rod/imagined/sweep/fes/pano.html . Just uploading this now - not linked to site yet since it does not work properly...
