I did search, I only found a reference to it in the French forum which I used Google to translate the page but couldn't still understand much of it and I thought of posting it again, just to make sure it's known.

EXIF data is not saved in rendered TIF files

Hi, I just noticed that when I render a panorama saving the final output in TIF, the EXIF data is not saved to the file (don't know if this also happens to IPTC data or other). It does get saved if I opt for JPEG or PSD but not for TIF. I though this was a problem introduced in recent versions cause...

But like I said, this was in the woods there were lots of close tree trunks with accurate lines, the same as poles, it just stitched... But you know what? The final render as come through and I don't seen the problems I was seeing with a 50% render, this is odd... But I'm glad Autopano fixed them no...

I know that, but it's not the first time I shoot handheld and never got so many troubles... And tried to be careful shooting these ones cause I learned a bit more since the last time, I just don't understand what's so wrong. My first panoramas, I was careless as hell, didn't know almost anything abo...

I've already did what I could, new HDD and new RAM, that's only I can change. I think I can change the WiFi card too, but that's pointless lol.

About Windows 7, running it here already, it's good to be a student with MSDN-AA access :)

I had replied to this before, but I don't know what happened to that reply... :/ I've tried to play around taking into account all your tips and I was able to fix a few of the issues, but... I start by removing all (not just the ones you pointed out, maybe it was just an example) of the long links b...

I have enough space, but I like to keep things as minimum as possible. My biggest problem with such a large filesizes is CPU power to handle them, I'm using a 4 year old laptop and I can't afford a new one so, I have to use what I have :P

That's what I already do but compared to jpeg, it still gives a very big file... But I guess that's the price to pay :)

I agree with digipano, if you are much concerned by quality loss, render you pano at size 100% to TIF or PSD, do postprocessing and keep final with same format. This is exactly what I was thinking but I decided to post this question here because my panos in TIF are getting quite large around 500Mb ...

Need help fixing a few stitching issues

When I posted this I was currently in vacation and testing stuff to shoot the best I could so I didn't come home empty handed. Now I'm currently working on that pano to produce the final stitched image, however, I'm having some troubles stitching the whole thing. Some seams just aren't right... Ther...

Short answer is YES you are missing a lot with shooting & working with jpeg(...) I'm aware of that and not trying to be impolite here, but that has nothing to do with my question... To make it simple, I have a bunch of JPEG files that I'll stitch in Autopano and save as another JPEG (1st recompress...

Question about quality by saving in JPEG

Hi, My workflow developing panos goes something like this: After shooting them I do all the stitching in Autopano and then open the final exported image in Adobe Lightroom and post-process as needed. I normally shoot in JPEG, which is a lossy format as you know. So my question is, since I post-proce...

Beware not to confuse the lens barrel distortion (the one you can see onto the images from your camera) and the barrel shape of the horizontal lines in a wide-angle panorama (as discussed in your other thread Is it possible to improve this pano somehow or it's ok? ) No worries, I know what you mean...

Well, I want to try similar results to those to see how I like it... Do I just need to set it Planar and change the center point like in your examples above, correct?

I haven't tried it yet, just looked at the website you posted and Panini's description says: Panini is a visual tool for creating perspective views from panoramic and wide angle photographs. More than a pano viewer, more than a view camera, with features of both. For Linux/Unix, Win32, and Mac syste...

Is it possible to improve this pano somehow or it's ok?

I just took these photos a few minutes ago and Autpano did an excellent job, it wasn't even necessary to edit anything manually, it just worked... However, I'm not an expert on Autpano, I'm just trying it out and I might have missed a couple of videos. But I did watch some of the tutorials already. ...

Ok, but the less distortion the original photos have, the easier is for Autopano to stitch them, no? CPs might have a lower RMS since without having to correct barrel distortion the same feature would be sharper in both shots, but correcting barrel distortion in PTLens or any other program will not...

as long as you have ticked the right boxes in the settings (edit-settings-optimisation-adjust lens distortion) then auto pano should compensate for distortion, this will be seen by the individual images no longer having straight edges in the preview, either convex or concave edges depending on the ...
