My GPU is a VGA Asus EN8400GS Silent/HTP/256M. It cost $30.99 from NewEgg in April of 2009. I tried the detection with just the first 10 images and got the same assertion failure. When using the "check" box under GPU processing, in the Render tab both pictures look the same. I will paste below the t...

[APG 3.0.0 B1 Linux 64] assertion failure during detection

During detection of a 228-image panorama Autopano Giga failed with the following message: AutopanoGiga: nv50_pc.h:351: nv_alloc_instruction: Assertion `pc->num_instructions < 2048' failed. I am using an Nvidia card and the nouveau driver. When I disable GPU processing within Autopano Giga, the probl...

Don't forget the power supply! I'm an "old-school" type who thinks that a computer needs a big power supply to be reliable. For my current system, which has only 12 GiB of RAM, I used a 1000 watt power supply. It was more than I needed, but made me feel good. With your 256 GiB of RAM you will probab...

also, John_Sauter - I have noooooo idea how to use your script. :( can you give me the basic run-down? You will need to install Perl on your computer, and the Perl modules GD and Math:Random. See http://www.perl.org/get.html to get Perl if it doesn't come with your operating system, and http://www....

Sorry, I don't. I wrote the program after having to create a sky by hand for a pano I made of Yankee Stadium, but I have not had an opportunity to actually use it.

I posted a sky synthesizer in 2008: see http://www.kolor.com/forum/t4515-synthesizing-the-sky. With some effort it could create an artificial sky for you.

oh my freaking god. i have spend hours installing various permutations of dcraw on the windows xp partition of my mac, and when they aren't too buggy to work properly, the output results simply aren't as good as those in Canon's DPP or Camera Raw 6.6. Aside from the fact that part of the image is m...

From what I've seen, there is no reason that Canon's own software shouldn't let ME decide if I want to use all of that pixel information or not. I resent having MY freedom to do what the hell I want with MY photos impinged upon - I hope Canon sorts this out. Canon will not sort this out : http://cp...

write large PNG files

AutoPano users who wish to work with large images don't have many choices of image format. There is a request to support BigTIFF, but that format is not widely supported by other software. Similarly, psb file support is not widespread, except within Adobe products. PNG file format is widely supporte...

I'm using a Canon Powershot s100. For some reason, when I import the CR2 files directly into Autopano, the extremeties of the image contain more of the panorama than when I convert them to TIFF first. It's very strange. The CR2 panorama literally contains more of the landscape, it's a wider image. ...

This appears to be a duplicate of http://www.kolor.com/forum/t12824-app-2.6-b2-linux64-won-t-start. Clearly, 2.6 beta 2 received no testing on GNU/Linux before being posted. It would have been more accurate to call it an Alpha release.

AutoPanoGiga compared to AutoPanoPro

I am considering upgrading from AutoPano 1 to the latest AutoPanoPro or AutoPanoGiga. Since the prices are different, I naturally wish to know how the software differs. I found the page autopano-pro-giga-comparison, and made a list of the features present in AutoPanoGiga but not in AutoPanoPro. I th...

We tried here this case on linux and windows. It seems to be a generic case ( should crash everywhere ), but it is not. To solve that on linux, uncheck color correction while doing the detection on this case and reenabled it through editor. It works perfectly. I don't have any idea why it doesn't w...
