From what I understand (but I am really not a Mac nor Open GL developer), the properties and functions reported by the driver should all be done in hardware ; if something isn't supported, the system changes the renderer to the (software) Apple renderer - as I see with Open GL Profiler. I don't thin...

Open GL software fallback on OS X

Hi. I was quite annoyed by the behavior I was talking about in this thread, so I played a little bit with OpenGL Profiler (previously bundled with developer tools, now a separate download from developer.apple.com). It is possible to attach a process (here Autopano) and to set a breakpoint everytime ...

Hi Hans. Alexandre's answer was to my original post for APP 3.0A2, before changes were introduced for APP 3.0B1 to overcome "old" drivers problems. At that time, I couldn't even activate the GPU option... ;-)

[APP 3.0 B1 Mac] GPU mode activated with old ATI card, but...

(this is a follow-up to http://www.kolor.com/forum/t15639-app-3.0-a2-mac-gpu-mode-problem-with-old-ati-card where my comment about this seems to have been unnoticed) With this version, I can activate the GPU mode without an error, and obviously APP thinks it is using it (the editor window grid shows...

Update for APP 3.0 B1 : APP behaves like GPU rendering was working (the main indication being that the grid in edition mode gives the real size of the panorama, not the preview size). But it seems that all or most rendering is done in software. Even moving the panorama around is very slow and CPU co...

From what I read in another thread, there is a similar problem with at least one Nvidia configuration : is the problem really in the driver or elsewhere in Mac OS ?

[APP 3.0 A2 Mac] GPU mode problem with old ATI card

When I try to activate the GPU mode (the GPU test is OK), I have the following message : "The shader program can't be compiled." This didn't happen with the A1 version, although I suspect that the GPU mode was not activated, whatever the switch value was. This is still my old iMac with an ATI x1600 ...

You're right, but you need to do it at each update... So if the dev team can add it, it's better... ;-)

As I told Lionel by email for the private build I tested, it seems that the "compatibility mode" checkbox is inverted in 2.6.2 RC2 : I need to uncheck it (which should activate the new mode, not the compatibility mode) for the issues to be fixed.

Panasonic DMC-FZ38 missing in cameras.txt

Not a big deal... This is the european name of the DMC-FZ35 which is in the file.

Alas, still the same problems (also those from http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=93879#p93879)

I don't see any change.

I just tested APP 2.6.1 RC1, but no change (no so much of a surprise since bug 998 is not listed as fixed)

By the way, is there a way to have a read access to the open bug list ?

You are right, but 1) GPU processing is really much faster and 2) these bugs are more annoyances than real problems. ;-)

I can confirm everything is fine on a Mac Mini (2010 with Nvidia graphic card).

While I can imagine an old machine like mine is not your main target, do you have an idea of when you can fix this ?

Good point : it is also blank. But otherwise GPU rendering works fine !... edit : it is most of the times blank... and when it is, something seems to flicker very very quickly when you switch to the "Render" tab. Here is the OpenGL info : OGL Version: 2.1 ATI-7.0.52 Render: ATI Radeon X1600 OpenGL E...

I can send you pictures, but the same problem occurs for all the ones I've tried, so I don't think the problem is here. I have a 2006 Core 2 Duo iMac with a Radeon x1600 graphics card. As I said in the initial post, the problems appeared after 2.6 beta 2, so you should be able to track them in the c...

Both still present in RC2 - Well, they are not in the corrections list, so it's not a surprise... The histogram problem is really something which need fixing before the release.

From the readme file : Warning : - We found a late minute crash when using Exposure Fusion preview under Mac only. So don't use this feature yet on Mac. Normally, we should not put public a version with such hard crash, but we still decided to make it public as it fix many issues from beta 4. Mainly...

[APP 2.6 RC1 Mac] - preview not shown

Another problem on OS X 10.7.2 : the preview isn't shown when a panorama is loaded ; it is true for new panoramas or when loading an old one.
