GPU used in final rendering?

Is the GPU used for the final render or only during previews? I use a SATA III SSD and Geforce GT 240- a 96 core GPU with 1 gb ddr5 128 bit memory, 128 bit enabled in APG. I am thinking of moving up to a 336 core 256 bit GeForce GTX 460. Will this significantly speed up the final render and blending...

Cheapest way to Speed up Stitching.. Purchase a SSD and identify a folder on it for your primary scratch disk in APG preferences... This will very significantly speed up the stitching as there is no wait time. Amazing speed.. maybe 6 times faster. If you have a computer that has Sata III (6gb) Get a...

Has anything been done yet to fix the very big problem?
Can anyone add images in the editor to existing groups?
It is going on months already.

but if you just want to process the photos to find which photos in a folder go together in a pano, 8x stitching errors would be fine. I wish the browse folder functionality could just use embedded thumbnails in RAW to do that rather than decoding the full size. All of my final full size stitched im...

No GURL, your reply is full of incorrect assumptions in my case. 1. I do not shoot on the nodal point. 2. regarding this issue I do not shoot panoramas but linear panoramas. 3. My work is very highly zoomable. Much of the work I have seen, you can zoom in from very far but have nothing really to see...

Proxy editing small pics then rendered on full size. .

Now that cameras are creating bigger files, exponentially more difficult and slower to work with. Why not use small images to create the the projects and control points. The renders for the process would work fast on small images, The FINAL render would work on full size source pictures. I do this n...

Control Points (CTL Points) for files added in the editor window appear outside of the images. RESULT: No matter what I do or what files I use, no images can be added into the Editor window without control points appearing way out of the images. Tests #1-4 Force EXIF from 24mm to 800mm. I suspect the problem might be with the exif data changing from the raw file to the tiff. Are you using TIFFs? Raw? Jpeg? Converted or edited files? How were the images converted from raw to tiff for stitching. I use Lightroom 2 to export the tiffs. I do not minimize the EXIF data in export. I will ...

The problem occurs when images are added in the pano editor not the group screen. I have tested the new APG 2.0.5 and the problem is still there. In the pano editor, there is no way to get the exif data. The images were shot in sequence same lens, ect. If there is a problem with the exif data, it is...

Yes I think Bo and Alexandre are right. I remember some of the scenes need to be rotated.
I can not get the exif info in what I think is group view. Double clicking does nothing. Please send me a screen capture.

Sorry for the delay.

Well Bo, as usual your replies make one feel like we are the problem. Different operating systems, different memory limitations. I am in XP pro 32 with a 3.5 (4 gig) machine. Maybe my memory is not working too well.. or maybe there is actually a memory leak which appears more on machines with less s...

keyboard shortcuts for move, rotate and fov tools or user programmable

It is quite maddening and a big wrist problem to go between layers mode and move mode.. Selecting an image to move, then clicking again to the rotate image tool, over and over.. Ouch. Simply make V for move, R for rotate Z for fov (since most users use right hand for mouse) or better yet... Allow us...

Yes Please add a manual method of adding control points.. why? My work is hand held, linear panorama, using 24mm lens in a high parallax environment.. Auto pano 203 and 147 are fantastic but where there are areas that it can not recognize, I can not add points in. If the focus plane is a little off...

Control Pt editor Manually displayingpoints out out of selected area.

When adding new images, manually adding control points. Often the control point editor adds the group of points out of the selected area and sometimes out of the picture. It may just be a display issue. Working with Planar projections. Attached links to screen captures. Does anyone from Autopano ans...

It appears that the crashes are when the GPU is enabled.. I am able to work and add images in the layers window of the editor with the GPU off . Only occasional crashes with GPU off. My video card is only and Geforce 8500TGT with 512 mb. Perhaps the apparent bug is more affected by lower end video c...

Anyone using a solid disk HD? Ramdisk for APP? Im considering getting one today. My last render took 12 hours on a phenom quad processor machine. My work is not normal nodal panorama. The last medium size one was 32206 x 13773pixels high. 447 x 191 inches Im using windows 32 still on a dedicated mac...

Is APP able to run on a PS3 under Linux such as Helmut Dersch's PT gui version? It is said to be exponentially faster than any existing quad 64 bit machines.? I have both APP and PT Gui. I prever APP over everything else for production speed and control point work. A PS3 would be smaller and more po...
