Panotour Pro 1.8 & Sophos Antivirus

Hi,

just received a message to update my version of Panotour Pro, so went online and downloaded the latest version 1.8.

When I went to install, I was not able to as my antivirus (Sophos) tells me that it includes a virus/malware by the name of Sinowa-A which it has quarantined, and which gives me a problem as I now need to login as an adminstrator to resolve.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and are there any suggestions on how this can be resolved?

Regds,

Norton antivirus don't see anything alarming.

Re: Panotour Pro 1.8 & Sophos Antivirus

Interesting, thanks for replies: the actual message from my Sophos pop-up window reads as below:

File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kolor\Panotour Pro 1.8\PanotourPro_win32.exe" belongs to virus/spyware Mal/Sinowa-A.

As a result I am unable to install/update, and as it is on my work laptop I will only be able to have the issue reviewed when I next visit my office: until then I constantly get a nag screen that reminds me of this problem, and whenever I open a programme and I have to close the warning message repeatedly before I can do any work which is a bit of an inconvenience.

I guess that nobody else has had any issues :-(

I should perhaps also add that earlier updates had no issues.

Hi!

Try to delete all previous versions including their prefs and make a new install. Usually that works.
Depending on your hardware better take the 64bit version.

best, Klaus

Re: Panotour Pro 1.8 & Sophos Antivirus

Thank you Klaus,

Did as you suggested, including downloading the 64bit version: uninstalled previouslversions and the installation went smoothly after that - I still have the 'virus' which is in my Sophos quarantine but the nag screen appears infrequently now and I will deal with that via my IT department.

Many thanks for suggestion :-)
