Hi...
I was chatting to my girlfriend who works for the largest camera store in Brisbane. She told me that Nikon have just announced that they have reviewed their entire products pricing structure.. Apparently the price of all Nikon cameras and lenses will now be the same no matter where you live in the world..
We are assuming that this is due to the fact that sales around the world are dropping like a stone.. if they do not act now they might go the way of Kodak.... The sales rep for Canon got wind to all this and he had gone off to report this to his head office... So, perhaps Canon will do the same.
At the moment there is a hug difference in pricing depending where you live.. Online shopping is killing the cameras gear shops so this change in pricing will mean that there will be no need to buy online... I am not so sure.. It's often the tax in Australia that make things more expensive.. The postage getting items from the US is not that much.. and since the exchange rate is soo good, I think buying from overseas might still be the better option for those in Australia.. Not sure about other places in the world.. I guess it depends on the tax %...
Well, if you are thinking about buying a new Nikon, I would hold off for a few weeks.... Just to see what happens..
Destiny....
