problem autopano giga

Hi Everyone,

my problem is that, when i stitch photos from inside-rooms, than there are failings after that in the picture. The biggest problem ist the nadir picture. I i don´t use the nadir i don´t get so much failings. Which are the best settings in pano-giga, without looking for the rendering time.I have setted the nodal point as best as i could for my Fisheye (Wallimex 8mm).In addition i use Sony a77 an the pano maxx. If somebody has any more tips for this constellation I would be thankful.

Re: problem autopano giga

the wallimex 8mm is identical (should be) to samyangs 8mm fisheye. the samyang does have an yellow ring on the lens. the  NPP is 1mm behind (in direction byjonet) of this ring...
I've no experieence with the head...
what is your shooting pattern?
do not shoot a zenith image. shoot 3-6 images while 5" above the horozont and finally do one nadir shot.
(turnin ballhead 90" and lifting the tripod those centimeters the head is high...)
or do it manually keeping the cam exact 90" to bottom (here you also can take 2 images from 180" different positions for later manual foot retouche...

to save your done work,
check if the images in autopano are set to fisheye  (image properties...) and to 8mm...
you can try the option (multiple viewpoints) for chaching an not optimal set NPP...

Re: problem autopano giga

Hi, when i put the npp on the point you explained ("the  NPP is 1mm behind (in direction byjonet) of this ring...) the result is horrible, but the rms is better (at first it was still around 4,6 and now its about 3,9) my shooting pattern is 4 pictures (every 90° one), two zenits and four nadir (two direct and two displaced)

("(image properties...) and to 8mm..." )  8x1.5 sony alpha crop factor.   12mm    35mmFull-frame

Re: problem autopano giga

stupid idee: did you landscape or portrait mode image...?
the TC handcontroller (also panogear) does calculate portrait mode with 20% overlap in sum 7 images. 6 in one row 3-4" higher than horizont and one zenith image.
the nadir image(s) one is normally ok, 2 are more save...
the nadir images I generally preprocess: I do erase (alpha layer gets transparent in autopano) ghosts like my feet or the legs of the tripod etc.

8mm Canon EOS 400D, APS-C with factor 1.6, so 12,8mm 35mm equivalent.
