big, big problem!!

Hi!

I have two panos here which i can´t get stitched at all. I use the PapyWizard import. xml and the images show the correct numbers.

I´d like to hear some experiences regarding the Beta with xml-import. It´s 223 images shot with 85mm and Josef´s head.
The head writes correct positions - i used it on other occasions - but i´m afraid the´re not correctly interpreted.

I´d like to send the xml and the images via ftp and would appreciate  you to try it.

Ii also would likek to know the correct import-settings . . i´m confused by the german translation - i´d prefer the english version.

When i move the mismatched images it works - and all are in the correct pattern. But i have lots of offsets and can´t correct them without
scrambeling all other images. Using optimization leads to chaos.

best, Klaus

This is what i get:

PS.:

here two screenshots after movingthe images to the correct positions in the pattern - but optimization scrambles all of it and i can´t
correct the offsets.

Re: big, big problem!!

Hi Klaus,

stupid question...
did you enable the option flag "use recorded location" (import wizzard -> detection option )
Liebe Grüße,
Georg

PS I just yesterday did a 294 images mercantor projection pano with the recent beta and used papywizzar import filter, merlin  fairly buggy setup landscape images, auto whitebalance) and on top I got the images after fusing with enfuisegui tool) this pano did never render until this try with the new beta (linear mode settings) the pano was ready after exact 43 minutes (8cores,8gig ram, 2x120gig SSD) final pano 2.3 gigapixel, 7 gig psb file...
... so it shoudl work for your pano too...

PPS: under Settings->Global you can change to english language... restart of PTP is needed if I remember...

Hi Georg!

I´m afraid the reason is that i use some old Nikon lenses - so no EXIFs. Could that be a point?
I´m a bit confused about the settings in the import filter - of course i use "recorded locations", but what about control point detection?
Guess it runs automatically!?

When i move ONE image into place all other musplaced images move to their corect places. That´s funny.
BUT after that i´m not able to optimise any more - can´t correct glitches . . .

So either i accept the holes in the sky and retouchg them in the Equi or i accept glitches in the picture.

I´m somewhat frustrated, to be honest - working two days and nights on the issue . . .

Guess i revise all settings again regarding the PapyWizard import filter in combination with all other settings.

best, Klaus

P.S.: könntest Du mir mal Deine exakten Settings schreiben? Ich glaube, irgendwo will APG vielleicht doch
EXIFs sehen und zickt beim Optimieren, wenn keine da sind . . was meinst Du?

best, KlausGeo

Re: big, big problem!!

I guess, you have some dust on images. Because the blue sky images should not move until they have some control points. Or it seems they have and that's why you have issues in the sky. Could you look at the links there ?
BTW : you can remove them before optimization and it won't affect the image's location then.

Remove them by deselecting them in the editor and after optimalisation select them back again? Does that work? So they can still be in the list below screen but just deselected?

Re: big, big problem!!

I'm having the same kind of issue (moving images manually), however, I'm using the Gigapan import and I wonder if there is an option using this import?

Another question in the same subject is: moving the images with the mouse is kind complex task, however, trying to move the images with the keyboard only, seems like is not working properly at least until version 2.6.1 RC2, so, the question is: the images can be moved using the keyboard only?

Yes, select an image and keys will move them in X or Y direction ( note : the motion will depend on the zoom used in editor, really zoom out, big motion, with a close up zoom, small motion ).
