Hi..
After trying to determine the correct XY +/- coordinate of a menu button it became apparent that a simple template was needed..
This graphic shows in increments of 10, the XY -/+ coordinate of a menu buttons. The red side is the X value from the centre point, which is the bottom left of the red square.. Anything left of that is in the -X value. The blue is the +X but you do not put +. Its the same way CNC and CAD is done. The UCS, User Coordinate System. This is a easy since it is only 2D there is no Z value.
You wil see I have put markers at intervals of 100. Just to make it easier to count.. Therefore the 'i' button has a coordinate value of -410 with a Y of 10. All your Y's will have a + values or they will be too low but since you never put the +, you just put the increment value.
The next button with be X="-490" "Y=20'"
I will point out that the reason why 'Y' is 20 is due to the fact that the base line on this template begins at "Y10" or it will be too low.
If you need me to send you this template I will.. ![]()

Lots of playing, lots of experimenting with even more frustration!!..
For creating nice buttons Xara 3D is great and not too expensive. Its all Vector based so nice to use, although I don't have it so I just used Flash.. Not as good as Xara 3D for creating nice buttons...
All I do is create a nice looking set of button/images with all the features I want like + -, Home and Sound etc.. Line them up over the top of this template to where I want them, and then take a note of their coordinates. All you need to do then is edit the xml code with yours. This template is the best way to do it quickly. It would be nice if there was a Software Utility to do this automatically but its not to be...
It takes a little while to get your head around it all but this really is the true value and power of ptp.... kolor have created a graphic tool box, not really knowing all that it can achieve, which is often the case with software.. Its takes very smart people, not me, to fully utilise ptp..
If you create some buttons.. keep them simple and I will send you the xml file to replace with your buttons.. You can then look at it to see what was done to achieve the changes..
Eventually you can put this in your templates so next time you want to use them, ptp does it for you... I am still working on my own corporate "Image" and then will do this too.. As soon as I work out my "3D-VR Vid Tours" then I will put a theme set together..
